Re: ISU: Post Game Thoughts
After thinking on this a bit---I am going to relay a story I heard from a coach who has been in a few NC games.
When everything is going great and when we are playing good football it becomes the norm and its expected. There will be times when it looks like we struggle. Thats ok when you play good teams. Its going to happen.
Now if the issues are something we as coaches can correct like stupid penalties I can live with that because we can correct and control that. But today we got a win. I will take the win.
IOW--relax. We arent going to play perfect football every weekend. We are going to work on our concentration and discipline this week as we get ready for SIU.
We are 4-0. I will take it.
Re: ISU: Post Game Thoughts
fairly sloppy game. defense won it for us.
Re: ISU: Post Game Thoughts
Didn't see the game but kept track of it online. I'm wondering about our kicking game. Last week we had the bad snap on the XP late and the missed FG that would have sealed it early. Today looking at the box score, I see we missed another XP?? Can someone tell me what happened? Was it a bad snap or just missed? I thought kicking wasn't going to be an issue and it may not be but the last 2 games it has been an issue.
Also, with the noise in Minny, I don't remember a false start penalty. Why the issue at home? Thanks in advance for any insight.

PAT was blocked.
Re: ISU: Post Game Thoughts
A win is a win in my book. Just frustrating to watch a win like this, but it's over.

Don't be so hard on yourself.
I'm sure you were being held.:rimshot:

I would agree with this. I didn't see anything today that can't be fixed.

The penalties etc.. can be fixed, lots to work on! What bothers me is that we got pushed around a little bit! Our O line got manhandled in the 2nd half! The Redbirds actually looked like the more physical team!

The Bison had multiple fasle starts against the Gophers as well and that has to fixed immediately. It was a sloppy game, but correctable errors that shouldn't happen next week. A win is a win and the sign of a good team is when they win and don't play the best. I expect they will look a lot better next week against what seems to be a suspect SIU team after their loss to Western Ill this week and it took them a last second field goal to beat MSU last week.
