You are only talking about football……. What about the rest of the sports teams. The MWC is more than just a football conference.

I've always known that IF NDSU were to move up he will be the first in line taking all the credit. See all the work I did pumping it up? and whatnot.

I want to move up just as much as the next guy. Watching CCU ranked 17 on The Deuce tonight makes me sick, but a move will have exactly 0 to do with all of our bloviating on a fan forum.

I agree, there's just not much we can do about it other than continue to support athletics.

It’s kind of sad but I never thought that I would be even slightly jealous of CCU. But hey, we have the FCS.

The Mountain West is weak. Remove Boise and 3 or 4 Missouri Valley teams would win that Conference

I more so meant compared to the MW. The statement was the MW is weak and that the MVFC is strong. You can’t take out Boise without taking out NDSU. In that case the MW runs roughshod over the MVFC.

The whole “take away the best team” argument against a conference hardly ever makes much sense. No conference is remotely as strong if the best team is taken out.

Same thing happens all the time when people talk about the Summit vs. MVC.

Ducks takin it to the Ohio nuts.

I was told NDSU admin may actually try & do something about FBS & all these alignments...but I won't hold my breath ... probably just lip service

When the Big 12 tv deal expires is another point in time.
2025? Texas and Oklahoma gone then, if they don’t arrange an early buyout.
Big 12 back down to 12 teams then.
What do they want?
12-14-16?
So they could add 2 or 4 in anticipation of new tv contract plus negotiating that contract

Lol remember when all the old farts were claiming the P5 was going to split off? Haha, nothing major is going to change. Time to move up. The P5 with a seat at the table aren’t going to change the status quo, the G5 eating the scraps are just happy to have scraps, and as it sits no one can sue the P5 so they’ll stay put. Won’t see major structural changes besides the 12 team playoff for decades.

I’m pretty certain that this is the last realignment if some of the G5’s expand and the dust settles. Basically our last shot. Color me not very optimistic.

Listening to what is being said on the Insiders (especially when ML is on) and reading between the lines, I have no doubt that NDSU is actively looking to move up. No guarantee it happens tho. Many moving parts. But I like our odds

and the MAC might not be bad in the new 12 team playoff. Play 3 regional heavyweight FBS programs in non-con and then sweep the conference. High probability of getting in frequently IF you can get highly ranked non-con wins

Also, there were reports a week or two back that the 12 team playoff was dead in the water for now. I think it needs a unanimous vote, and one or two of the committee members openly said they weren't willing to vote for it after the Texas and Oklahoma announcement.

I mean this is true but the mindset has to change a bit if we did end up in the FBS. You can’t run through the MAC and win each game by 7-13 points each game. You will not get much consideration in rankings unless you somewhat blow out the competition. Obviously wins agains big P5 schools are a main factor but can’t sleep walk through a MAC schedule and expect to get love for it even if you are undefeated. The more points the better.
