Re: 2021 Verbal: Cole Payton
too much pride/loyalty for entz/roehl/braun. almost to a fault. they stick with "their guys" just ask the players who left.
NDSU should be about competition and best man wins.

To service my woodworking hobby I have acquired a collection of vintage and heirloom chisels and planes. To impart mirrored razor edges on those various irons I use a collection of sharpening implements, all made of some form of stone. Plus a lubricant.
The last thing in the world I want to introduce to one of those finely honed edges is another piece of metal.
It might sound good but it is a flawed analogy.

Ok, I feel better. Apologies for the drift. Back to the discussion and schtick, eh.
I'm not that smart, but aren't you describing iron sharpening iron?

How do you know it ISN'T? Seriously, tell me how. Otherwise STFU with this.

The crazy thing about social media is that it has somehow legitimized this kind of "dialogue". It used to be that it was just grumpy old grandpa or crazy uncle Marv mumbling his irritation about something he didn't like. He usually didn't seem to truly understand WHY he was angry but he was. When you'd ask him what was the problem, he'd belch out whatever combination of angry feelings that were on top of his head, irrespective of them forming a cohesive or even truthful thought. We never took Mr. Cra-cra seriously and typically took cautious measures not to stimulate further similar outbursts.
Today, people engage for some reason.

I’m not really sure what to think here but I do recall similar conversations when Brock was a Junior/Senior. Do you think Jensen would have beat Wentz in an open competition before the 2013 season? Even if Wentz could’ve have won this battle, should he have started?
I don’t know the answer to these questions, and the analogy isn’t perfect, but it’s something to consider…
…I think the only huge difference is transfer portal may induce pressure to play the better player earlier…

All sorts of people said that back then. Wentz was by far the "better" choice but how could you bench a guy who's won you championships...

Don't think so Jim.

And interestingly enough, Cam has gone Championship, Runner-up (and he didn’t play poorly in the game that they finished runner-up)… where as Jensen was essentially 1 win better…
Interesting comparison I think…

If that's the case then we've got even worse problems. FFS, this coaching staff thought QP was a starter. But back to Cam, I go back and forth on whether it's the horrible play calling that destroyed his confidence or if his shortcomings dictated the predictable playcalling.
