Is no team going to take Wentz?

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
probably the Jets or Ravens at this point. hahaha
Arizona ? lots of QB questions around the NFL
Plus if I'm Wentz agent I just wait until training camp someone will go down and he can be a starter then. f them
NE, PIT, HOU. Maybe a team with questionable starter or backup like TAM or MIA. If he isn't signed by camp, then it's all about whether someone gets hurt before or during the season.

Jets have Wilson and Aaron’s buddy from gb already.
Ravens seem content with huntley or whatever his name is.
Miami signed white.
Houston will still have mills.
Pitt has Mitch.
New England loves Zappe.
Vegas? Denver? Green Bay?

I think the Rams are a logically spot as they have no backup. Not saying it is a great spot, but it makes sense.

Rams would be alright. So would the Chiefs (unless they signed someone already).
I could reasonably see Stafford retiring after another year and he's made of glass at this point. Could give Wentz a legit shot like it gave Baker.

Only if he wants to play football. But it looks he as different priorities. May be he should return to Fargo and start his coaching career at NDSU.

Carson Wentz Trending on Twitter AGAIN. (this time because of Jalen Hurts record contract)
easily the #1 most popular north dakotan in sports history by a mile.

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
im dead serious when i say this i think it would be good for wentz to sit down have a couple 13-14 cocktails with joe willie namath and or terry bradshaw-----------chapo perhaps you could arrange this? in the history of the game it is not uncommon for all-time great QBs, especially injured ones, to struggle for a few seasons

It is very sad to see Carson being listed among the top 10 QB draft bust of all time. I never thought Carson would be on that infamous list but it is a very sad day for me.

If Carson is in the top 10 of that list, then that is a bullshit list. He had an MVP caliber year and several other good years. That is not a draft bust. He did not live up to his second contract, but he lived up to his first contract.

Just so much grist for the hype machine. Teams reach on guys and then they get burned down all on the back of unrealistic expectations set in desperation.

You can’t compare today vs 1961 when Maria set the record as a you were not alive and times have changed
The other thing is wentz is mostly infamous

Maris would have blown up Twitter if it had been around in 61! Phil Jackson, also more well known than Carson.

Last time I saw, he had Carson as top 10 QB bust of all time. I am happy if he took Carson of that list, as far as I am concerned Carson does not belong on that list. He had a great start with the Eagles that was cut short by injury, later he played with a squad that was not hungry , depleted with injury and did not share the same goals as he did. Then the team gave up on him and he sort of fizzled in Washington, I dont think he is a bust.

Lol you certainly have a way of framing things and projecting attitudes to justify negative outcomes for NDSU players.
The Eagles certainly had some issues but lets not pretend they were the Cleveland Browns or something. They won a Super Bowl while he was there and made it to another a couple years after he left.

Carson Wentz was a MVP ^^^ until week 16
and in 2019 Carson got Eagles to the Playoffs with this WR Corps: 4000 yard and 27 TDs he should be in the Hall of Fame on that accomplishment alone.
Greg Ward JR
JJ Arcega
Deontaey Burnett
Robert Davis

I'm not going say I agree with the way others have framed anyone's career but there are some other factors than QB one can point to with eagles SB runs. When they won, their o-line was solid and one of best in NFL. Then they went into rebuild mode with o-line for a few years. Their SB return correlated with o-line play getting better.
There have only been a handful of QBs in the history of the league who have won with bad o-lines. There is a rich history of bad QBs who have won with good o-lines. Generally, and usually without exception, a QB is only as good as the line in front of them.
Hurts pretty much had the same stats line as Wentz until the o-line got better. The colts did no better with Ryan. Washington won a couple more games but statistically, Heinicke really wasn't any better QB. If their o-line is getting better, I would be inclined to have given Wentz another year because physically he still has way greater potential then Heinicke. This is where maybe he isn't clicking because of his personality. I don't know.
Certainly with his contract there are expectations but he isn't one of the handful of generational talents that can win without o-line support. Now his value is tied to that contract when there probably is the right situation for him to be successful. Draft busts are guys like Jamarcus Russell where no situation would be the right fit because he gained a ton of weight and wouldn't put in the time to prepare.
I think Wentz will get one more chance in his career and if it is on a team with a decent o-line, he will finish his career on a much better note than where it is at right now. I just don't think where it is at right now is 100% self-inflicted.

His conclusion (not a bust) is correct but his reasoning is gobbledegook.

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
Wentz has been working out in Los Angeles and is open to taking a backup role, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis:
Wentz averaged less than 7.0 yards per pass attempt and 220 passing yards per game each of the past three seasons wile starting for three different teams. He's reportedly received interest from NFL teams -- presumably for backup jobs 00 since Washington released him in February. The 30-year-old is unlikely to find a chance to compete for a starting job but might be hoping injuries open that up at some point before Week 1 if he's patient.

Was hearing a little interest possibly from Arizona also?

Who is GB's back up at this point? Didn't half the team leave with Rodgers?

Finally got enough time to google it. Sean Clifford (PSU) and Danny Etling (LSU).
There's no way they aren't looking at either Carson or Bridgewater.

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
I feel he would be a good backup option in Cincinatti too.
