i would expect less than 5000 bison fans since there isnt tailgating for away fans anywhere! so most of you drunks will stick to shooting road signs with a case of schlitz in your pick up trucks!
I think the same thing was said about Timmy B. It is sort of like saying you are looking forward to the golf season because you have a new swing this year--one that you read about in Golf Digest during the winter, that is.

By the end of the week you'll be predicting 50k.
Also-the logic that MN fans don't see many wins on the schedule so they'll all want to go to the NDSU game makes zero sense whatsoever and has no root in reality.

Re: 2011 Gopher Game... Let the Planning Begin
I went to the Homecoming game against Purdue two seasons ago with my brother and there were A) a crap load of Purdue fans there B) a lot of empty seats everywhere. This was the inaugural season of TCF Bank Stadium and they even kicked the crap out of the Boilermakers. We even got our tickets for free. I have a feeling there will be a lot more Bison fans there than you think, Personwhonamesthemselfafterpee. (goldenshower)

Re: 2011 Gopher Game... Let the Planning Begin
I'll predict 15-20 thousand Bison fans at least. Maybe 25,000 but probably not any more than that.

Tony. At what point does ISXBISON get moderated or banned for personal attack, STALKING? ARE U SERIOUS? HE REPLIED TO ME , DO U EVEN KNOW HOW TWITTER WORKS ? Ps..I'm not a booster either! Id fight back, but the double standard would find me banned.
I really think 10000-15000 ndsu fans for sure, I wouldn't be surprised with 20-25+

That's what Goofer fans said about NDSU in 2006 (barely won) and 2007 (got soundly beat).
I am sure Goofer fans also said the same about SDSU in 2009 (barely won) and USD in 2010 (embarassing loss).

I don't think he thinks you meet the legal definition of stalking, but it is creepy to seek out college athletes online who you cheer for and befriend them. If Grant Olson is a family friend or something who you've always known, then we owe you an apology. If you "met" him online by looking him up because he is an amateur college athlete who you cheer for, than surely you understand how some people would find that weird.

Doesn't mean that they shouldn't win those games. With the budget, roster, recruiting etc advantages it is inexcusable to have the record that you spell out.

Re: 2011 Gopher Game... Let the Planning Begin
This maybe good news for the Bison-Gopher game this fall. I saw David Shama's blog posted on the GopherHole. If it comes true, it will likely mean one more hour of tailgating before the game!
Big Ten May Drop 11 a.m. Football Starts
Those dreaded 11 a.m. starting times for Big Ten football games may soon be only memories.
Big Ten schools located in the Central Time Zone, including Minnesota, have started many home games at 11 a.m. for years to accommodate the conference’s TV commitments. The network obligations haven’t been popular with many fans who found 11 a.m. too early in the day for their convenience or comfort.
Gophers athletics director Joel Maturi told Sports Headliners this week that a change for the coming fall is possible. “With the new negotiations that commissioner Delany has done with ABC, ESPN and the Big Ten Network, it looks very favorable that there may be a possibility that beginning as early as next fall we’ll be able to play at noon,” Maturi said.
If Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany is successful, no future conference games will begin at 11 a.m. Start times here could be noon, 3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.

NDSU rate at the Radisson a couple blocks from the stadium is $139. I am still staying at the crappy Days Inn since I got a rate just under $100 and prepaid.....found out later the purchase is non-refundable.
Whats up 4m? Horny Bison tailgate crew not good enough for you? I believe most of us are staying at Days Inn. If the Fairgrounds end up being the place to be we will go there for tailgate on Sat AM. Fri night will be close enough to walk to wherever the action is...........
My biggest issue will be finding a large group of tickets in the lower level of the Stadium at a decent price (i.e. close to $100).

Re: 2011 Gopher Game... Let the Planning Begin
I'm not sure if I am just missing something or can't find what I'm looking for but on this site it says On-Sale dates for Gopher tickets will be announced April 6th but I can't find anything about it. If anyone can clear this up it would be appreciated.

Re: 2011 Gopher Game... Let the Planning Begin
The family Tatanka has officially purchased 8 tickets in row 1 of section 117, right next to the student section... will be a blast!
I told my 6 year old son we've got the tickets and that he'd have to sit by the Gopher students. He said that's ok because the Bison won last time and they'll win again this time, because gophers are stinky.
Can't argue with the boy.

YOU SON OF A BITCH! I was going to buy those this weekend! lol.

Re: 2011 Gopher Game... Let the Planning Begin
I was also looking at those, all of the tickets left are so endzone centric and over priced, im going to try my luck with the 20-20 upperdeck gen admission tickets.

Re: 2011 Gopher Game... Let the Planning Begin
I'm just going to stick out it a bit again unless something good becomes available.

Getting 20k into Tiny Cramped Field should not be a problem! Wisconsin had 15k there two years ago and Iowa over 20k last year. Craigslist will be awash with tickets as usual!!!!!

I doubt you need to do that to buy them. You can find student tickets on craigslist all the time.

Too bad it's not like another school where you can think about taking online classes and they count you towards enrollment.....

hell, some Canadians I met at tailgating were pulled over for speeding in gf, and since they stopped they were given a diploma (printed on the back of the ticket). Too bad they couldn't stay overnight, they might have had a hockey scholarship to pay for it all...

That's interesting. I thought all diplomas from there were printed on tp. I would have them check to see if those were authentic. They should check the other side for the official "seal"...it is usually a bit smeared. Notorious might have homemade one you can look at for verification purposes.

yeah, I know. I found it hard to believe too but apparently there were so few people in and around grand forks with the mental acuity and manual dexterity to properly affix the seal without assistance, their numbers started declining a few years ago. They had to resort to other means. Usually the police only pick up people driving too slow through gf but made an exception for these dudes since they were Canadian...

Pretty easy to find out what kind of paper a UND diploma is printed on.
Walk into the top executive's office at your workplace and look at his.

Hey, Tony started that thread to contain me. like he does with news about other schools. NOT ME
BACK TO THE GOPHER GAME. tickets are insane online for this game.
$175/200 is the average ticket for anything below row 10.
50,000 seats at $100/average ticket scalping price is incredible.
