Re: High School post-season: ND, SD, MN, WI
Not sure if they still have the same coach but back when I played Parshall was notorious for running reverses and double reverses.....coaches were always yelling "stay at home" to us.

Probably is... I looked at your profile and checked your age (unless you lied of course!). The coach is the same one that's been there since about 89 I think was his first year as coach. Parshall hardly ever has had any large people moving kids so we always seem to depend on speed and he geared his practices that way to make us faster. So would make sense to run reverses and double reverses to make use of that!

Hankinson takes the 9-man state title, 27-12 over Parshall-White Shield.
I wish NDSU would take a look at a few of these athletes - Stein, Althoff, and Hangaard all played extremely well today. I know UND has taken a look at at least two of those three.

You don't think they haven't atleast looked??
Re: High School post-season: ND, SD, MN, WI
I didn't see one player on the field today that could play at the FCS level, I'm sure they are all good players but not just at the level required to play at NDSU. Last year the RB from Hillsboro (who happens to play for the Bison now) dominated the game, I didn't think anyone stood out today as that kind of player. By the way, I am in no way bashing 9 man players, I'm a former one myself and think it's great when they can go to the next level but I just didn't see anyone like that today.

But Parshall had many good teams in the late 80s and through the 90s, I played on the 95-97 teams (as you can maybe guess from my bisonville handle 1998 is year I graduated braves is mascot and 64 was my number), 96 we were ever so close to making it to the dome that year, went undefeated in regular season only close game was Divide County, who beat us by 2 in the quarterfinals and that because of a 60yd fumble recovery for a TD with about 2 mins remaining in the game (eerily similar to Hillsboro this year??). Granted that is pretty much the last good team Parshall has had until this year and this year came as a suprise to many people as they were not expected to do well, they were picked to be 5th in the region by the coaches.
I was pretty excited when they won because I thought Hillsboro would win against Hankinson (although they always play hillsboro good and I have watched the pirates qb play against hillsboro last year and was impressed) since I now live in Hillsboro, would have loved to watch a Hillsboro-Parshall (which would be a rematch of one of the 70s championship bball game and another year they played in the first rounds) matchup as they both play running games... unless the Parshall coach has dramatically changed in the last few years, from what I heard of the game on saturday though it was pretty similar to what he use to run.
Sorry for the long post had to defend Parshall's honor! Go Braves win it all!
You mean Randy Hedberg right? I played for him, he left SCSU in 2007 and is now a Co-Offensive Cord./QB coach at Southern Illinois.
