I watched the game today, and although he looked pretty good he's no where near big enough to play fullback...he put up some big yardage running the ball, but doesn't have anywhere the speed to play HB at the FCS level...if he hits the weight room and puts on a few pounds he could possibly play as a Junior at FB or something. I think they said he was only 210lbs.
he had 140 yards and 3 touchdowns in the first quarter
high school 210 pounds is like 240 in college after the strength and conditioning coach gets him
he will probably play linebacker in college
but he is a 9 man stud
6'2" and 210 is almost ideal for a Senior H.S. LB/FB...get him in the program, after his first couple of seasons you are going to have a 6'2" 230-240 LBS. LB/FB on your hands, pretty good size for a MLB. Also, the whole speed will come with size, its hard to judge a high school kid, and when coming from a small school even harder because they are playing 2-3 sports a year, and not getting to live in the weightroom like they would at the FCS level, the weightroom and training will develop the speed and size. Also, having the "nose for the ball/instincts" will help a LB overcome being a little slower. Just my thoughts....
I played against him when i was a senior and he was only a sophomore and he was a stud then. He looks alot bigger than 210 when your standing across from him and i was no small guy at 215.
Can we rename Velva? Possibly 'the Bison Football Factory, ND'. Geez- Trevor*, Wade, Jayd and Matt Kittelson, Steve Knorr (Sawyer), Clint Gjellstad all played for SU (*did Trevor Kittelson play?). They had Rob Bodine (sawyer) that played for Clemson... Am I forgetting anyone? Rediculous!
I am related to him haha
