Re: A new and better FBS thread
Let's look at what happened last year for the NCAA tourney:
Big Ten: 9 bids
Big East, Big 12, SEC : 6 bids
ACC: 5 bids
MWC: 4 bids
WCC, Pac-12: 3 bids
AAC, A10: 2 bids
CUSA and the rest: 1 AQ bid
The CUSA AQ bid went to UAB, who is leaving for the AAC.
It's a pretty big gamble to assume CUSA would get anyone in without the AQ bid.
Would be like shooting your own foot because you hope for collateral damage.

there has been 0 zilch nada out of our new president from Kansas U
Most of our bigger donors are from small town north dakota think this is just the greatest ever being a big fish in a small pond and going to frisco every year because they are familiar with the place.
So Yea. NDSU admin hasn't sent out 1 EMAIL or PHONE call to the Mountain West or frankly any conference. its always the same cliche line when someone asks them.
"we are monitoring the FBS world .. blah blah blah"
You have a better football program than Stony Brook but they are not D2 or a shit hole. It is a 'very' highly rated Public University in a nice part of Long Island.. I am not sure why you diss the school all the time.
Re: A new and better FBS thread
You fcs yokels want ndsu to just stay here and stagnant forever and MAYBE just MAYBE stay on this plateau?
You've lost a HUGE group of fans 35-55 that grew up and were here during the run, in order to get them back or reinvigorate them, FBS is the ONLY way.
you can win 10 more titles and 100 more games in 8 more years and you wont get more fans.
wake up and smell the coffee
we need to move forward !!!
Re: A new and better FBS thread
Should have used more caps.
Re: A new and better FBS thread
SI reporting today that SanDiego St is a "lock" to join the PAC once media deal is complete. Others may be added also.

I don't know. Ask the D1 Transformation Committee members who support it, but I'm going to guess it has something to do with $2 Million per team per game in credits played in the tournament including the play-in games.

That has been sort of an open secret for awhile. SMU comes up as a possible but I have been thinking Fresno State and San Diego State will be the schools going to the Pac..Hat tip to both from me..
Losing SDSU hurts on many levels..They are a big market and though their football ebbs and flows they have a monster basketball program..
Losing FSU and San Diego State means two fewer baseball schools..
Boise State seems like a very long shot..Maybe they could get a B12 spot but that seems like a long shot too..
How all this potentially effects NDSU is unknown at this juncture..
Should the departures happen, the MW would have 10 football schools and 9 oly sports schools..They certainly could decide to expand. The balance between Mountain schools and West schools would really tilt east. That could help your case.

May need to separate the tournament from NCAA like CFP as the AQ requirement may be in their constitution. Since 85% of the NCAA revenue is from the tournament and part of the draw is the little conference winners it may hurt the numbers of the early rounds. Maybe not.

Won't happen, there are too many conferences involved. This isn't like football where the SEC and B1G have leverage to potentially split off.
SEC/Sankey proposed this, but Philips/ACC said its a terrible idea.

Phillips said he was against shrinking the number of automatic qualifiers, and that terrible idea, fortunately, hasn’t gained much traction.
