Hey puck I hope Carson keeps playing even if it's as a backup. He'll probably be able to pick his next team but probably in a backup roll. Wish him nothing but the best!

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
Carson has officially been let go by Washington to no one’s surprise. No idea what the future holds for him.
-
Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
I hope he saved up some money to whatever he feels like. As for his football future, he may be stuck in a backup role. Maybe the 49ers will sign him so they can have 3 FCS QBs on the roster. :)

Wishing him the best. Also congrats again to Wolfie for his award on being right about Carson. I bet he stares at it every day when he wakes up. Such pride.

Lots of ideas!!
Carolina/Frank Reich. Patriots & Belichek?
Vegas, Texans? Can't wait to see where he lands.
Still a Top 20 NFL QB Talent wise.

Miami. Tua is one stiff breeze away from a coma.
-
Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
Meh, he needs to play better so this wouldn’t happen. Seemed alright in Indy but otherwise he’s been hurt or playing like shit. Expectations need to be lowered on his level of play and just role with the punches.

Arizona, Murray isn't going to be ready early in the season. Could get some starts to build his stock back up.
Tampa Bay maybe.

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
if he is patient he could probably pick his team come August.
gotta laugh at the GF herald/WDAZ article of 4 places he'd land. Dallas Carolina LA Rams and #4 XFL/USFL.
what the f... he ain't going to no xfl/usfl obviously a und grad.

I hope he retires so he can walk when he's 50. If not, be a backup for a few more years to pad retirement or to keep his charities going.

The guy will always be a legend in ND. I hope he establishes a local presence at least during the summer months.

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
I don't know shit about the USFL but I wouldn't mind seeing him go XFL route it's been pretty entertaining this year the Rock is a bro.

The Vikings need a backup.... I'll take Wentz or Stick.

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
Wentz, I don't believe is going away soon. He is a great QB in bad situations the teams he was with. He might not be a starter next year, but he will be on as a backup someplace. He will be in the NFL for a long time yet.

Yeah wow. Never thought I’d say it but that’s kinda a toss up.

Miami would be a good landing spot: https://www.espn.com/blog/miami-dolp...tua-tagovailoa
Offensive minded coach - WRs are as elite as it gets - they're (apparently) committed to Tua who is super fragile so the backup will most likely play.

BINGO!!! Less practice time, familiarity with teammates and the playbook is always more conducive to success.

The article in question by Peter King (addresses a lot of topics, the Wentz stuff is in the “Numbers Game” section about halfway down):

In fairness to McFeely, he’s just quoting Peter King…

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
The ONLY Super Bowl ring the Eagles have, in the entire history of their franchise, would NOT have been won without Carson Wentz. Fact. Truth. Gospel, and Amen. That alone makes him worth every penny they paid him. And please spare me the lectures about "Green and gold glasses!" You're insufferable and ridiculous.
-
Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
They are lots of things with Carson that can be true all at the same time. Wentz did help lead the Eagles to their only super bowl and without him they wouldn’t have won it. The Eagles paid too much for Wentz. Wentz has had some good years post injury. Wentz offensive lines have been pretty poor since his injury as well. He really hasn’t had a good offensive line since his injury. He has had two really bad years with a decent year sandwiched between with the Colts. Jim Irsay is a schmuck. Wentz has been injury prone since high school.
I would still sign him as he was loved in the QB room last year and would be a great backup. Oh and by the way I think his stats are still better than Big Ben thru his first seven years.

It’s a good point… but it doesn’t change the fact that his career has been pretty disappointing. Whether bad luck of O line or injuries or ownership or unfair media attention, I expected a lot more.
Maybe he’s not done, but if you look at his career up to this point and all you can say is “well he helped them win a Super Bowl 6 years ago…” then I guess I don’t know what other color glasses you’re wearing, but they aren’t clear colored.

Such a fair point. Hard to argue against no readie.

We don't really know that. Maybe they went undefeated with Foles? Maybe Foles would have won the MVP. I mean he was legendary in the playoffs and super bowl. The guy earmed it and deserves credit
I will say Carson got the Eagles in the playoffs and was really good that year. I think his best football is the year he was throwing to practice squad players

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
Are his offensive lines that bad or does he hold it to long

What is insufferable and ridiculous is everyone who keeps making excuses for this guy. He has had his chance and he is not that good.
