I haven't gone back and watched the 2nd half of the SDSU game, but it seems like I recall trying to return kicks and getting pinned deep and maybe that lead to conservative play calling?
I could be remembering it wrong or have the wrong game even. But just take the darn ball at the 25 and have some breathing room. Often we don't get any further and there is a good chance of a penalty putting you in a bad spot.
I didn't say shit until you referred to the 2019 Championship game plan. If you can find another post of mine prior to that where I commented on TR or the coaches, I'll eat my words. My football knowledge is much less than any of the coaches, past or present and likely future. So I typically don't comment. That being said, criticism isn't necessarily bad. It's often what spurs improvement. It's difficult to argue with the results of this program. That being said, there are some times under Roehl where our offensive results get stagnant at times for stretches. It seems to me that we rely too much on the big play to score points versus long sustained drives. Our style of football works best with long sustained drives that keep our defense off the field and fresh. It's, in my opinion, why we have typically dominated the fourth quarter over this run. Our offense has worn out their defense and our defense is fresh and clamps them down. In 80% of our games our talent can overcome this. In Sunday's game that won't work and we also don't have Trey Lance at QB to lean on. The talent matchup is in SDSU's favor for the most part. Big plays are going to be very difficult to come by. Coaching is going to need to help our players overcome that on Sunday. I truly believe they are capable because for some stretches they have shown that they are. It just hasn't been as consistent, in my eyes.
Stay on Frisco... Frisco HS needs an OC
QB draw then swing pass for 3 when we need 8
what a joke
The bigger issue is our defense. You’re such a dumb fuck Lakes.
Do you know you are down 24??
2 striaght runs
