Browns and Cowboys at home for the Commanders the final 2 weeks. Hopefully Carson retakes the helm and gets them into the playoffs.

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
This makes me think Wentz will be starter next week. Why else make that move? Very winnable game vs Browns. Win basically gets them into playoffs.

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
The oline for the commanders is just terrible. It doesn’t matter who is at qb. If they had a little better oline wentz could have excelled there. I grew up when they had the hogs and they had average QBs then but were still really good and they need to go back to that model again.

Carson is next man up.
The Commanders need a jolt at quarterback. Will Carson Wentz do?

Watching the high(low)lights of the Colts offense yesterday is pretty awesome. Watching the Colts fans crying in their beers in the stadium is even better.
Wentz was obviously the only thing holding them back from a deep playoff run

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
Even Saturday hammered Wentz last year. Funny how he is coaching so poorly now after bragging up that oline last year that currently is horrible this year as well. They we way overrated last year and Wentz had a good year last year with 21 tds and 7 ints. He wasnt great but was good, much better than what they have this year.

He actually had 27TDs behind the 30th ranked pass protection line in the league last year. Their offense was ranked ninth in total yards. Plus their weapons suck. Their defense blew several double digit leads and their kicker was also hot garbage.

All because of Carson’s lack of leadership, of course

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
To be fair the Colts issues have been much greater than QB this year. So many injuries, more than I ever remember. Retirement of a couple key players. Receiving staff is good but young. Tons of potential. Traded Hines at RB. Ryan is definitely done but better than the Ehlinger who they tried for a couple weeks. Fired OC and then HC bringing in a great leader but someone who has never coached. Wentz probably dodged a bullet by not being here this year.

Oh. They had plenty of injuries last year. They beat the Cardinals with zero starters on the oline. I think they could have easily competed for that division this year. Too bad the owner is crazy. Did you see that latest interview he gave.

I did not see the interview, but I've heard about it. He is quacky, but in general, he has invested in having a good team for most of the last 25 years and is a great supporter in the community. The high school star finals are at Lucas Oil every year, thanks largely to their partnership. They provide a lot of resources and opportunities to local high schools as well. This is common for every NFL franchise, so nothing unique there, but his good fat outweighs his bad.
Injuries this year are much worse than last year. Shaq Leonard has been out most of the year. Kenny Moore has missed the last several games. Jonathan Taylor has missed several games, including the last 2 and our for the rest of the season. Last year, they had him and Hines, and they've been without both. 3 of their top 4 receivers (behind Taylor and Hines) are also no longer with the team. Jack Doyle was a key part of the offense last year, and he retired. They do have a decent receiving core, including TEs, but they are young. The players they missed against Arizona were COVID related, not injury related. And fair or not, that was blamed on Carson for his leadership in vax. He only overcomes that if he leads them to the playoffs and gets a win or two. I expect them to recover in a year or two because they've done it every time they've tripped.

And I expect them to keep stumbling around in the dark until they trip over another Peyton Manning…
A piece of trash like Irsay criticizing Wentz over leadership. Hit the pipe one more time bro

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
Rivera announces that Wentz will start this week against Cleveland. Hopefully he makes the most of it... these last 2 weeks will probably determine whether he's a starter or not on opening day 2023.

The issue with the Colts are 100% because of Irsay. He doesn't get enough shit for how horrible of an owner and "leader" he is. It is always someone else's fault when the Colts fail, he always knows more than everyone else (he was rightfully ripped for the Saturday hire, took a victory lap after Saturday won his first game, and it's been crickets since Saturday has definitively shown he's over his head for many weeks) yet the one connective tissue is his "stewardship".
He may not be Daniel Snyder level bad, but he absolutely sucks.

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
Wentz is in a difficult spot. As said he needs to play well this next week otherwise he will be hammered. I am hoping that he continues to learn the offense while injured and that will help his play and he will come out and do well. His holding th ball early could have been two factors: one he was dealing with a completely new offense and second his line was not playing well and it appeared he became a little gun shy which contributed to him holding it a little longer.

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
Jumping the gun, but it would be interesting to see Washington at the Vikings in the first round. It would likely be the most winnable playoff game for Wentz. Who would NDSU Vikes fans want to win? Wentz needs a playoff win to resurrect career. Vikes will eventually lose before the SB anyways. Juicy!

well i've already watched 1 bad performance by a NDSU guy in person vs the viking this year (watson game 1) why not 2...

Oh, I'd fully expect the Wentz-led Commies to beat the Vikings at US Bank in the first round of the playoffs. But I've conditioned myself to expect a loss in every Vikings game and just be pleasantly surprised if it doesn't happen - I'd put the chances of the Vikings getting by San Fran and Philly in the playoffs at about -110% so might as well have Wentz be the one who delivers the nut kick to Vikings fans everywhere.

The last few years Wentz has been very good at not turning the ball over. The problem is that those limited turnovers always seem to come at the worst possible times so they get blown way up by everyone. There is a big difference between a pick in the first quarter in a 0-0 game and a pick in the fourth quarter when the team is ahead/behind by one score. Big difference between a pick in game 2 of the season and a pick in game 16 that's a must win to get into the playoffs. No one is going to care about the first ones but the second ones are going to be talked about on every sports show the next day.

If CW and team don’t win both next reg. season games, he will again be berated by the very pathetic media that most here swallow like a 2-bit hooker. SMFH!

It’s amazing how the media generally hates Carson. I just dont understand it.
Everything is in front of Carson. Win the next two and go to Minnesota in the first round of the playoffs. Win that one and I would think he would be back with the Commanders next year.
I hope he makes all media eat their words.

In order to get the number one seed, it’s quite simple. The Vikings need to win out and the Eagles need to lose out

It will toughen him up and they've already written him off. No pressure anymore. Just play and have fun. Anything over 120 million is playing with house money

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
Things are lining up pretty well for Carson and the Commies to close out the season - they play the sleepwalking Browns this week and then I'd assume the Cowboys are going to be resting a good chunk of their starters for all or part of their game in Washington in week 18 since they'd be locked into the #5 spot in the NFC with either a Philly win over New Orleans or a Cowboys loss to the Titans this week.

Yeah, not the reason for the sports media hate on Wentz. Nice try though trying to put him on that cross. It's the norm, Wentz isn't an exception, for sports figures to "wear their religion on their sleeve".

I think people confuse him with Tim Tebow or something. Tebow did get a lot of potshots for religious reasons. I haven't noticed that with Wentz.
