98% chance we were running him, and D knew it. And I just shake my head at having Cam (Natty game) in next to him at the RB position, and we run a fake to Cam and there goes Cole for zero yards. Were we trying to set something up there? If so, we certainly didn’t go back to it. What a complete waste of a play and player in that play (Cam). Could have just ran it with 10 people, as no one in the stadium thought Cam was getting the ball as a RB. Is, we hadn’t used it as a set up play during year—>AND WE RUN IT IN THE Natty down be a couple of scores or wherever we were at in the game at that point??
I’d like to know WT EXACT FUCK ROEHL WAS THINKING THERE, assuming he was even thinking. Dumbest play I’ve ever seen.
He was channeling the old Stig.

Come on. Usually the back up doesnt play the whole game. Not to mention the whole playbook thing. But he did have a chance and pissed up a rope by throwing and interception. When that was the worst thing he could have done.

. Yep, coaches surely gave Cole a chance to show his skills. He gets to handoff the ball 5 to 10 times in a few games during clean up duty. Other than that he comes in to do a designated QB run 0 to 3 times a game, with the only exception being the stupid call for Cole to chuck the ball into the end zone to make up for Cam's penalty for his show off bow and arrow move. Cam should have been suspended for a game for that crap! Either the coaches or Cam are to blame for not having a consistent passing game. I think Cam's 1 for 12 performance against UIW was disgusting and much worse than judging Cole on one pass of the few he got to throw this year!

When youre the back thats what you get. No different than any other team.

I don’t know whether that is true with this O staff. We rotate and play 20 players—can’t tell me that the the skill players are all of equal talent so it’s justified. And, I think that effects current QB play.
May as well rotate QB I’f you’re gonna rotate so many other skill players. Or, maybe, quit doing it already and play your best players until and if they need a break.

Ive never liked rotating skill players. The more they get the ball the better they get. They find that groove and become the hot hand. You lose what there D is doing. I guess thats why you need a OC to tell you? When you are on the field you can figure out how to beat your opponent. And you know that.
Re: 2021 Verbal: Cole Payton
We have had Brock, Wentz, Easton,....thru Bohl and Klienman eras
Did they handle it diff?
At least give the backup a full quarter in mop up duty--- with pass attempts, play Change at LOs etcetc
Did they add real game training to practice regimines ?

How many games did we have this year to allow for mop up duty? I honestly don’t recall.

Agree. Watching Vikes right now. Don’t see all this platooning.
