Well, heck, I took a visit to UND - I'd think that the visits during recruiting are kind of fun.

I just realized that my post made it sound like I was speaking from experience as a recruited athlete - the only thing I got recruited for was academics and high test scores but still had fun taking road trips to visit campuses. I figure a recruited athlete must have even more fun.

I was 17 when I went on my first recruiting visit. That visit opened doors to things I had never dreamed of. :D Needless to say after the first one it was like eating peanuts and it was hard to stop.
I think they have toned that down since the Colorado debacle.

Another new offer: D.C. Everest WR/DB Matt Kerswill (6-1, 180).

The Bison Media Blog has reported that Ryan Drevlow of Milnor-North Sargent has committed to NDSU. I believe that he is the first North Dakota recruit.
You can give Drevlow and Grothman the little green star with the word Verbal behind it:D :D
Cole Jirik DE from Northfield,MN committed to NDSU if not already posted.
why wouldnt they verbal?? NDSU is big time for them.
I'd still rather see some texas, florida kids.. and minneapolis.. WE NEED SPEED!!!!!!
Holy shit that didnt take long. Ryan Drevlow ran a 4.65 forty. I know the kids he played with and played against him, No lie. Don't know grothman but he's pretty fast for his size. I ran a 4.9(not fast, but fast enough) forty my senior year and they blew by me.
Speaking of Jemison....I hope he is next!!!!
SWEET!!! That is 3 for 3 in ND. Another clean sweep. Congrats to the staff.
There are people on UND and SDSU's boards talking about how well we are doing on recruiting. Tradition talks!!! SDSU gets it done, no question about that. I am really excited about these verbals. Hopefully they all stick and we can continue to build on a very strong young football team. I am excited about the kids who redshirted last year.
Keep em Rolling in!!!!! 2009 class is looking good so far!!
I have from a quality source we are down in Texas heavy right now. Not sure how it will turn out, but it will be interested. WR and QB are positions that we will hear more about in this class. As of now, it couldn't get much better. DE is just amazing in this class.
I'm loving this class, Bohl is building a defensive core that should be very good in a few years, some real nice talent on the DL and Jemison looks like a stud at OLB. Now just add a QB, a few WR's, maybe an OL or two, and we'll be set.
I'm expecting to hear about CB's. We need some young guys there as well.
Added Chase Maires a safety from the Woodlands - not sure if there is an offer there or not. Also, of course, updated the status of the Big Three North Dakota recruits (well, actually road did that).
A new offer, A.J. Westendorp, QB, Holland Catholic (MI) - 6'2" - 208 LBS. - 4.72 Forty
Senior Yr. Stats -
Rushing - 1,250 Yds - 25 TD's
Passing - 69.9 Comp % - 3,600 Yds - 40 TD's - 4 INT
Smart kid, 4.0 GPA, 33 ACT...bit kid as well, 300 Lbs. Bench, 32" Vertical
Michigan, Central Michigan, Western Michigan, and Eastern Michigan all show interest, NDSU has the only offer.
How many scholarships do we have to hand out for this recruiting class, does anyone have a clue?
Those are some pretty freakish numbers (for AJ Westendorp) - that's almost 5000 yards of offense for him and a QB rating over 200 for the season!
Here's a highlight tape:

Those are very freakish numbers! After watching his video, it looks like he very good when you get him outside the pocket and let him use his legs and arm to make a play, but at the same time, not affraid to hang in and let it fly. Look's like he throws a good deep ball, and you have to like a QB that isnt affraid to lower his shoulder and run a DB over!
He's also a winner. His team went 14-0 and won state.
Cooper Wahlo Jr. - WR - Woodbury, MN - 6'2" - 175 Lbs. - 4.47 Forty
Getting interest from Colorado, Colorado St., Minnesota, Northwestern, NDSU, and SDSU

Edited down quite a bit (worried about copyright) - sorry.Quote:
"Yesterday, North Dakota State offered me, so that was a good thing," Westendorp reported. "This weekend, Saginaw Valley State offered me. I am going to get an academic scholarship there, then they are going to cover the rest, so it is equivalent to a full-ride. I'm going up to visit Grand Valley State this Saturday."
hopefully the recruits come to visit after winter break so there are actually students on campus so they can see what the school has to offer in terms of people. nothing bugged me more than visiting schools over winter break and i couldnt get a good feel for the student body.
Spankn a certain university up north in recruits. :)
who cares about them!!! its over.. done.. has been.. will be..
Lakes, while you continually talk about it being "Over" with UND.....we aren't playing against them, but we will always recruit against them. Location will dictate that.
From the Bison Media Blog, apparently more on the news at 6pm. Josh Gatlin from NDSCS. DB.
