“I have no regrets about our quarterback,” Rivera said of Wentz, who appeared on the injury report Monday with a right shoulder issue. “I think our quarterback has done some good things. There have been a couple of days that he struggled. … [But] the way he performed [Sunday], it just shows you what he’s capable of. We chose him because we believe in him.” - Per Washington Post column today.

Again Wentz does have his problems, but sheesh he has no guards or a center after the Detroit game. RBs are averaging less than 4 yards a rush and the starting RB is averaging a terrible 3.2 yards per carry. Think that is the Rbs fault I don't think so.

Aside from Wentz's five scrambles for 15 yards, they rushed 12 times for 28 yards in a game that was close the whole way. Their gameplans/play calling sucks, their scheme sucks, they're on their third center of the season (I think). Lots of problems for Washington right now.

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
Just something to consider. Colts were 9th in the league in scoring last year. Currently 30th. Wish Irsay wasn’t such a dolt. Carson was a perfect fit for the Colts and would only be better his 2nd year in that system.

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
There were 3 terrible snaps. The center rolled 2 of them back to him and bounced another one back to him. A running back recovered the first one, Carson recovered the 2nd one, and the one that bounced back to him Carson was able to pick it up and complete a pass. Not sure how a rolled on the ground shotgun snap is considered a QB fumble. If that is how they score it, QB fumbles are the most inaccurate statistic in the NFL.

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
Wentz has had over 40 dropbacks in every game this season. He has thrown the most passes. Wentz is the entire Commanders' offense. They have a good run called back by a holding call and go into 2nd and long or 3rd and long and Wentz has to pass under heavy pressure.
Wentz is undefeated in his 6 Thursday night starts while in the NFL. He is very smart so the quick turnaround doesn't affect him. It also seems that the limited gameplans that teams can make for a Thursday night game make his job easier.

Last stop the owner ended up not wanting him. Now it seems like the owner is the only one who wants him but that owner is Chainsaw Dan.

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
I thought I just heard one of the talking heads on the Amazon pregame desk take a swipe at Wentz in response to a comment about the Commanders WR1 needing to get the ball 10 times.

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
Wentz is stuck AGAIN on horse$hit team with a bad o line.
just like the Colts
just like his last 2 years at Philly.
just a shame

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
man about 4 easy catches dropped, another 2 times the WR didn't run the good route, then when that's not happening he's getting killed behind the line.
just snake bitten

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
Washington's defense had 2 penalties for 12 men on the field, and not the kind where somebody is running off and doesn't make it. 12 guys lined up and ready! And then on the last drive with the Bears at 2nd and goal, they had 10 guys on the field. Amazing incompetence. Not sure if its the players, coaches or both.

I’m not even sure how that happens. Do they even know what defense they are supposed to be in? If there are 12 out there seems like two of them should be trying to play the same position.

Then at the end they only had 10 guys lined up for a critical down. What a clown show.

More drama/theatrics/whatever in Rivera's post-game presser.

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
I honestly think the dumbest thing in life is that a quarterback's performance is so skewed on W/L. I didn't watch the game last night but Wentz's stats were TERRIBLE. This morning there's now no discussion on switching QBs, all because some Bears WR couldn't catch the ball immediately and got tackled on the half-inch line. Or the Bears return man muffing a punt. As if Wentz had remotely anything to do with that win.
But if Wentz had gone 20/30 300 yards 2 TD/1 INT and they lost 28-27 people would still be calling for his head.
So. Stupid. lol

I think kirk herbstreit probably thinks Thursday night football in general is pretty dumb. He probably feels better after he looks at his bank account though eh.

I watched the whole thing. Wentz had a couple passes that were dangerous, but for the most part his passes were good...drops killed him...drops that were not his fault. The o-line in the first half couldn't stop anything. Run on first and second down for minimal gain, and then da Bears bring the house on 3rd and long and the o-line takes a break...nothing Carson could do there. Carson also gave a massive block late in the game...thing of pure beauty. The team has to have loved that.

Well I would also say judging Wentz's performance and role in the win without watching the game and only looking at the stat line isn't reasonable either.
