Might as well just put Carson in Shotgun the rest of the year. seriously

They need to incorporate some screens, draws, shovel passes etc. up the middle to get the defenses to stop blitzing so much. The scheme doesn't give the defense any reason not to go hard after the QB.

I love how ESPN calls this a “tight defensive battle”
They just be on some peoples’ dicks

I believe they showed last night that the Colts have either the 32 of 30 rated offense in the league so far this year and that was in the first half of the game so they only got worse last night. Wentz is an average NFL QB, but with a horrific line like the Commanders have he struggles. For me I hated how much crap he got last year as everyone keeps saying the Colts had the best oline, but I think what I saw last year and what is continuing this year is that the Colts have a good run blocking oline and a poor pass blocking line. People just got on the lets trash Wentz bandwagon, but man it takes a team to win. Look how bad Wilson looks as Geno Smith is better.

W's are all that matter in the NFL.
The Lions have the top offense in the NFL, but they have 1 win.
The Vikings offense is middle of the pack, but they are 3-1.
I hate the "o line" excuses, it's such an easy cop out.
Joe Burrow has probably the worst line in football and he made it to the super bowl.
It's all about the QB in the NFL.
Just win baby! (Matt Ryan is not good anymore, don't get me wrong..but he's done better then Carson did in Indy thus far through 5 games)

Did you watch the game? Ryan was an ineffective old man. Wentz has his issues but Ryan makes them worse not better at QB.

Well so far Washington look worse at QB not better than last year. I guess we'll see what the season has in store.
I'm guessing Washington will not win more than the 7 games they won last year with Taylor Heincke.
So essentially, they will pay way more for a QB to get the same or less wins.
The Colts will pay way less to get the same or less wins as well with Matt Ryan.

I mean if he wanted to, he could just go to any number of websites and see that in both 2022 and 2021 Wentz has been better than both in both years.
But for some reason he chooses not to... hmmm...

If stats won games, then Kirk Cousins would be a 5 time super bowl champ.
The level that people go to on this board in trying to make Carson a top QB in the NFL are just laughable at this point.
I literally called it when he went to Washington that people on here would blame the O Line, organization, receivers, etc....welp, looks like I called it correctly. Seems to have the same issues with every organization, o line, receivers, etc, everywhere he goes. So strange isn't it?

Literally not one person here says he’s a top quarterback you idiot
-
Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
The Colts have not won any games. The Chiefs lost that game by missing field goals and then getting a personal foul after sacking Ryan on a play that would have pretty much ended the game. The Broncos would have won in regulation if they just ran the ball and then kicked a field goal. Instead they let Wilson throw and he threw an ugly pick in the end zone. Wilson lost that game with terrible decision making and even worse passing.
Out of all the QB's that changed teams this year Wentz has played the best. It hasn't translated to wins and he has been sacked way too much but he has still been better than Ryan, Wilson, Mayfield, Trubisky, and Mariotta.

He left Carson's ex out of his post so I question his assholeness eh.
He's no Jalen Hurts eh. But Carson is more mobile then Tery at this point in their careers.

Huh?? That last play was a horrible concept. That play design was awful. Why not roll out and have options. Even if it was completed he wouldn’t have scored.

And that weird lob he made a few plays before to no one and was a foot away from being intercepted? That was a brain dead decision.

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
The play call was to get a quick throw to give them time for one more if it didnt work. Criticize it all you want but Wentz cant force that ball into that spot with another play to go.
Another typical Wentz game. Stats look decent but more questionable decision making.
-
Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
Hasn't thrown a lot of picks the last few years, but the ones he does throw seem to come and the worst possible times....

Lol. Have you watched Washington this year? I have every snap. The Center and guards are awful. If you think that play design was good I can’t help you. Nothing to the outside on the goal line? No rub routes. RB with an under route into a zone coverage. Absolutely he tried to force it. No doubt. Very tight windows when the other team knows you are not going to run. Still like a roll out with run/pass options. But that’s just me.

This is accurate. This was a real bad one and unfortunately he might be headed to the bench. He will still have a great career but what might have been.
I was so hoping he would finish that drive.

I only stated the play call was one that was designed to be quick. If he has to force it like that then he should chuck it away and live for 4th down where he has option to extend the play however he needs (assuming they call a better play than that)
Id assume there arent many 3-4 second plays out there to call in that INT spot.

I was listening to the Washington radio broadcast and they said that was a miscommunication - Carson expected the receiver to continue to the corner, thats why it looked so bad.

Eagles fans are laughing their ass off at Carson

I didn't watch the game but saw some stats on ESPN that showed that he fumbled 3 times but none of them were lost. Is that correct? Also showed that he was the second leading rusher with 15 yards. I assume that's from scrambling and that he actually got positive yards. Also, the leading rusher got 22. Yikes.

That team isn't built for long term success. Much like the Cards last year. It'll catch up with them.

I think there were a lot of bad snaps they might be calling fumbles. At least that's what it sounded like on the radio.

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
Washington's oline is really bad, lots of penalties just not going to overcome all the mistakes they make, seems like they are always in 2nd or 3rd and long. Yesterday was a winnable game and Carson blew it at the end. Had a chance to change the narrative and couldn't do it. You can blame it on a lot of things but at the end he has to make a better decision and play there.
-

This is exactly my thoughts as well. Wentz went to a bad situation and isn't quite good enough to bring them out of it. Let's assess the team. Bad Owner, Bad oline with injuries that has made them even worse since the Detroit game, injury riddled defense, and Carson is who he is. He is just one of those QBs like a Ryan Tannehill that needs a good team around him to be good. Only a top five QB could remotely help Washington and that still might not help Washington.

Didn’t fumble. Those were horrible snaps. Center was struggling. The guards and center are really bad. Constant and instant pressure up the middle for weeks.

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
Very few quarterbacks can look good on a bad (or very bad) team. However, I did see Carson on the passing leaders graphic from some show on Sunday afternoon/evening. Looking at his stats vs the Titans, they aren't bad.
25-38, 359 YDS, 2 TD, 1 INT

The last goal line stand looked bad for Wentz. He threw potentially three interceptable balls. The first was a throwaway that was a little too close to being catchable in bounds. DB caught it, but couldn’t keep feet in. The second was an attempt to fit the ball in a tight window and was almost intercepted. The third pass was the same thing, but was intercepted. There may have been a miscommunication between Wentz and the WR too.
It looked worse than it probably was, but you still really want Wentz to come through there. I will say the playcalling was atrocious at the goal line though. Bad clock management by Rivera led to the Redskins being put in a pass situation from the 2 yard line. They called uncreative plays and the WR’s looked covered. It isn’t all on Wentz, but a throwaway on 3rd down would have looked better.
