The reality is that there are a large number of students at both MSU and SCSU who are from the metro. They might not have intended to go there but they are there. I would agree with your ranking of the schools, but it doesn't change the fact that both Mankato and SCSU have higher enrollment than all of the other non-FBS schools you ranked. Their proximity to the population of the metro allows them to get more students.Quote:

There's another reason why the B1G scooped up USC/UCLA: LA is an area still with potential students; the rust belt not so much.
The U is hard to get into so I can see the closest public universities being a second choice for many students. Or you could be like my brother-in-law who chose Bemidji State because it was the farthest distance from his parents without leaving Minnesota -- meaningQuote:
