He continues to make great plays and I would want him as my starting QB, but he does need to continue to get better with these poor throws. I was an Elway fan and his stats are terrible compared to Wentz and he drove me nuts so I am very used to having 4th quarter comebacks as the result of some previous terrible throws or decisions.

Well I watched the Bengals game where Burrow was getting picked throwing into double and triple coverage the whole first half, so maybe I'm a little more skewed on what constitutes a "bad interception" lol
It was a window that was open but closed because he threw it late and with not enough steam. I'd rather see him doing that than the times where he's throwing wildly to people over the middle with defenders all around. If he makes that throw a quarter of a second earlier it's a big, big gainer. That's much different than throwing it to a guy who wasn't open all route.
I take talking heads like RG3 about as seriously as I do people on BV.

I don't like talking heads either. I prefer my own assessment :), but it was a bad interception and there are a lot of bad interceptions each week in the NFL. Hardest position in sports.
Wentz has only averaged like 10 interceptions a year so he does do fairly well in that category. His interceptions sometimes just look worse than others so dumb reporters practically count them double cause they get to talk about them for a week.

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
He was slinging it with confidence and throwing darts all game. With the 2 4th Qtr TDs and a Win, one would need to be a real A Hole to take anything but positives from his overall performance. Very positive step in week 1 IMO.

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
Doesn't appear that the sharks are buying a lot of Commie stock with that week 1 performance against Jacksonville considering they're about to make Detroit the betting favorite for the first time in 24 games in their game vs Washington this Sunday

Not a good start to the game. No first downs in the first quarter, a safety, and a couple of sacks.

The only thing the Commanders are commanding is an implosion.

Ugliest first half I’ve witnessed in a long time

Tale of two halves for Carson. That int on the stat line wasn’t his fault either.

LMFAO eat your heart out Jim Irsay
Shut out by the Jags

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
Carson 337 Yards 3 tds and the TE dropped the ball for his int.

With CW playing well and the Colts not being able to beat the 2 worst teams, Irsay has shown he is a massive buffoon. Again.

Sounds like just like in Indy he's the problem. /Purple

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
Irsay is a complete buffoon.
Wentz didn’t have any time in the first half and the poor decision to go for two when down eight didn’t help the team. Wentz int was his fault as it thrown it too high which he tends to do at times. He still had a great second half.

To be fair, didn't the Colts start 0-4 or 0-5 last year? If they could have just one 1 of those games...or if the NFL season was just 16 games...they would have been in the playoffs and he would still likely be there. I did hear that with the first two games with Washington, Wentz became the first QB in history to throw for 300 yards and 3 TDs is each of his first two games with a new team. It's a cool stat.
I think my favorite stat of his, though, is that he was the first QB to throw for 4,000 yards in a season without having any wide receiver with over 500 receiving yards.

1-3 I believe...but far too lazy to look it up. Plus randomly guessing is perfectly fine on this site.

You're right. 1-4 to start off.

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
saw 2-3 articles about wentz/kelce and how they all still love Wentz.
here's wentz/fletcher Cox today

3 sacks, 3 freaking sacks in 5 minutes , Washington OLine is going to get Carson killed.

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
Wentz just almost gave himself a concussion taking on a LB. dumb.
here's a video of Wentz in the pocket

Need to move the pocket more. More roll outs. Gotta keep their defense honest

Maybe the Eagles have a really good defense. They got after the Vikings pretty good Monday night.

Only thing clicking for Washington is the Gibson RB, he is very shifty and gaining 4 yards a carry , other than this nothing much going on for Washington.

The Eagles have a very good team. I would say they are a top five team this year. Solid defense and potent offense. Smith and Brown are better than any receiver Wentz ever had with the Eagles and Hurts is a mobile QB with passing ability.

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
Like, I'm ok with Wentz being kind of a bust, but 9 sacks don't happen due to QB play. They just don't.

Wentz is not a bust, he is better than 60% of QBs in the league, but somehow he is not on the same page with OLine, not sure what, sometimes I think it would help throwing a quick short passes instead of staring down field for a big bomb, I agree he has the arm talent but if the WRs are not open he should not waste time in the pocket to do something out of nothing. I just wish he threw quick slants for 4-5 yards.

Honestly watching the QB sacks on Wentz yesterday, I don't know why he's not throwing the ball sooner. He looks like a rookie second guessing himself rather than a veteran who can get rid of the ball. He will be a backup QB shortly.

Article in The Washington Post today emphasized needing to get rid of the ball quicker, and Carson said the same thing...be interesting to see if he can do it....
