Re: A new and better FBS thread
My new saying is push it up. Like a fighter pilot. Not sure why this thread made me think of that. PUSH IT UP!

Re: A new and better FBS thread
I was just gonna say. He should direct his social-media activism squarely at Burgum and Hagerott. Let us know how that goes, Lakes, maybe in the smack thread?
Please stop bringing it up. It’s old and at some point it starts to have a negative impact, even though you don't intend it to.

when the ADMIN and "SOME" of the stuck in the mud/happy to be here fanbase has made it obviously clear they don't want to grow/get bigger and just keep on keeping on pulling thru the status quo. fans are leaving our fanbase and NONE OF US WANT THAT!! what we suppose to do?
What's our NDSU vision ? Where do we want to be? where is "Bring on the Competition?"
Football - Top of the FCS clearly dont belong in FCS.
Basketball - mired in a low level mid major in a 1 big league, where at best case your a #13-14 seed
Softball - Top of the summit league, dominant every year to NCAA & get knocked out 0-2 games most years
Track/Field - Clearly Top of summit league, dominant every year. does fairly well in NCAA's individually.
VolleyBall - average in summit league, made ncaa's 2 times in 11 years bounced 1st game
Baseball - average in summit, made ncaa's 1 time in 11 years
Wrestling - Plays in BIG 12, average program.
Womens Basketball - nonexistant 11 years.
So if you look at that. a FBS move would greatly improve ALL these programs, PERIOD
Football/Softball/Track would really succeed moving up, as they are all at the TOP of their league dominantly
Basketball & Volleyball & Baseball would Instantly improve dramatically

We'd clobber Miami. Unfortunately, for as long as we remain in FCS, we'll only be able to imagine how the game might go rather than actually play such a game. I know, I know..."but Oregon." One FBS game in 3 years doesn't cut it for me.

Re: A new and better FBS thread
Reason #2893742 NDSU should be FBS
So Jabril and James Cox spoke one day in November, just a casual conversation the father didn’t even know stuck with his son until far down the line.
“If you win this, you’ve done a lot at North Dakota State,” James told him. “You’re gonna graduate in May. You need to probably up your game a little bit.”
WHAT ELSE IS THERE TO DO AT NDSU?? a common theme

Maybe one of his goals should have been to play a entire year without a missing any games due to injury.

Re: A new and better FBS thread
True..
does this pandemic all but screw the FBS dream? we gonna be stuck here forever arent we. Trophy Chasin for 22 titles in 24 years
-
Re: A new and better FBS thread
listening the the RJ Young dudes podcast about NDSU getting NO's from Bama, LSU, Clemson..
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U95O...ature=youtu.be
You can't help but thinking what if. WHAT IF we were in the mountain west, we could get these games and many other bigger games.
waiting 4 years for 1 is a joke right now.
then 2 years for CU and 2 more years for Zona (2 programs that are extremely beatable)
Hate that we are just wasting our prime in the FCS.
-
Re: A new and better FBS thread
and it begins.. a new year of losing recruits because NDSU isn't FBS
Nasir Washington (NDSU 2021 Offer) commits to Miami of Ohio.

That’s almost two conferences worth of teams gone.

Re: A new and better FBS thread
You might as well put this thought on the back burner for a couple of years.
Economic impact of virus on state budget. Economic impact of oil prices on state budget. Economic impact of commodity prices on state budget. Who knows what kind of impact the virus will have on enrollment and the NDSU budget? And the killer, if there is no football season this year!

All good points. Right now I would say there are States and Universities who will are hell bent on staying locked down until there is 100% certainty if no further infections. And, they are hate sports.

Two typos 100% certainty "of" not "if" and they "also " hate sports.

Two things every university absolutely wants in the Fall: students on campus and football games on Saturdays. They will do everything in their power to make both of those happen because they rely on both for funding and survival. It's entirely possible neither will happen, but they will do whatever they can to make both happen.

Agreed!!!
Have been wondering if fund-raising for the football training facility will be completed? Any news there? Would think it is a terrible time for such athletic facilities given so many many more important places money needs to go after this pandemic shutdown.

Matt Larsen said back in March that all fundraising for the IPF has been suspended indefinitely. So I'd say no IPF for a couple years at least.

Re: A new and better FBS thread
With everything that’s happened I would say we are lucky we don’t have an increased budget from a move up to the FBS.

The typical FBS fan probably can't name the mascot for more than a few of those teams, but they can pronounce Bizon correctly. :)

Re: A new and better FBS thread
I wonder how many games and in what span an FCS program needs to win in order to get one of their coaches in this collection.
https://247sports.com/LongFormArticl...9/#146867109_1
I see a local FBS guy got in there.

Re: A new and better FBS thread
NDSU 3 FBS games scheduled 2017-2024 other 3 dakota's 7-8 FBS games each.
yet another reason, we can't even get them to play us!
-
Re: A new and better FBS thread
Watching the Trey Lance Article and subsequent replies on twitter/gopherhole/kfan facebook sites............ makes you realize that NDSU needs to go FBS already.
sick of it, NDSU is in its PRIME the last few years, if we were FBS this year Jabril Cox stays and we get a TOP 25 ranking. You can't convince me we wouldnt, especially if we had 3 dam 1st rounders on our team.

Always hard to speculate.
