$1 million would greatly help NDSU program :)

Re: A new and better FBS thread
Just out of nowhere but how much fun would it be if we played in the B1G? Games against Minn, Wisc, Neb, Iowa, NWestern to name a few. Man that would be great!

Just random shit that pops in my head sometimes. I do like watching B1G football on a cool October Saturday and thought how cool it would be to watch the Bison play these teams at places like Camp Randall on national tv. Just a very random post on my part.

Re: A new and better FBS thread
WOW. Fox College football Twitter

top 10 4%
11-20 15%
21-25 36%
not ranked 46%
and replies are all positive mostly from power 5 fans.
LETS GO!!!

Last time I checked, the NFL seems to be doing OK. Here's the TV revenue per team over time.

I'm confused by the inflation adjustment labels. They seem backward to me.

Central Michigan 2020 schedule

at Nebraska
at Northwestern
NDSU would love that

@Oregon trumps those games, although if Nebraska wasn't terrible that would be fun. San Jose State, Lakes? North Carolina A&T is basically the same thing. The MVFC is a better conference than the MAC.

NDSU is better than the MAC. SDSU is possibly better than the MAC. But the MVFC is not better than the MAC.

Collectively this is a true statement. I've had a few officiating friends move UP from the MVFC to the MAC. Their observation is in general the quality of the players is definitely a step up. They feel confident NDSU would compete fine in the MAC as they currently are, but the general level of play is actually better. The atmosphere at games especially the mid-week games is a different story.

exactly.
and they play 1 game during the week at home and 1 away each year correct? so you really would only have to deal with 1 wed or thursday game a year ON ESPN all alone. plus you cant tell me a thursday night game wouldnt be fun, take afternoon off, tailgate 2pm-7pm and the place would be rocking/

You're right. I just looked at Sagarin conference rankings from 2014 to 2019 comparing the MVC to the MAC East and MAC West, and it's basically a toss-up over this 5 year period.

Why would we want to be in the MAC when we're obviously better than them? May as well enjoy FCS because that's where we'll be .

Re: A new and better FBS thread
yet another reason for NDSU to move up happened today .
Jabril said it in his tweet. "I want to play FBS"
the last few years its happened more and more on recruits. if NDSU is in the Mountain West and dominating like Boise State, we won't lost players that's for sure and we would probably be a place kids will want to transfer too.
Its the Offseason, we are really not going to have ANY FBS move up discussion? everyone has given up?

I have given up. Keep fighting the good fight. But I think by the time this happens, I won't give a shit anymore. And I actually don't think it will ever happen. When people finally come around on this, there won't be any seats left on the FBS lifeboats. NDSU will be among the folks on the Poseidon who did not climb up the Christmas tree until the water starts rushing in. Then it's total mayhem and it's too late.

Re: A new and better FBS thread
You'll always have kids that want to win a championship (whatever that may be) and kids that want to play FBS ball. We do miss out on some that want that FBS label and I don't blame them for wanting to play at the highest level. Jabril definitely wont be the catalyst for and FBS move. What I'm afraid of is this being a normal thing for us. Have a kid in the program for 3-4 years that's a stud knowing damn well that he's going to the NFL anyway and wants to secure a bit more money in the future by finishing at a P5 school to up his stock. Yes there is a lot of risk with that strategy for the player. I'm afraid that we'll have to deal with this again in about 2 years.

Re: A new and better FBS thread
in respect to Tony & the Board, im trying to keep all FBS talk here.
are we ever going to be big time at NDSU? i'm guessing things like Jabril make it painfully obvious that we won't get there.
NDSU spends 10 years of building a program that can't grow upwards.... Jabril is the straw that broke the camel's back for us visionaries around here. we'd have to duplicate 15-0 for the rest of eternity. LOL
dammit jabril! the slap in the face of reality is here.
(thankfully Dillon Radunz isn't graduating this spring)
PLUS it'll be Jabril Cox from LSU (NDSU loses out on all the marketing/exposure for Jabrils hype before NFL draft in 2021.. argh)

You do realize that it makes absolutely no difference if we were Mountain West or Mac. Jabril would still have graduated and been able to transfer. The only thing that would have changed was in his tweet he would have put instead of FBS it would have said highest level of FBS and he would still be gone. You are just using his Grad transfer to promote your narrative of we need to be FBS.

The catalyst will be a $100 million or so donation. As much as I would like to see NDSU go FBS, I don't see how it could happen otherwise.

no ledge its just reason # 43523823 why NDSU should be in the god dam FBS already! we have nowhere else to rise up too!! people are seeing this, players are seeing this now. Wake up!

Re: A new and better FBS thread
NBC Pro Football Talk:
With three national titles in hand, Cox has decided there’s nothing left for him to prove at the FCS level and will prove his mettle at the next level before embarking on the next next level in 2021
You see, even the National press knows that NDSU should move up. "nothing left to prove at the FCS level"
SAY IT OUTLOUD WITH ME!!!
plus look at ALL the Publicity and hype that NDSU WONT get now via Jabril this year and the NFL draft in 2021, argh.

According to your quote, they were talking about Cox, not NDSU. Stop lying.

OK, so if were FBS, and say in MAC or Sun Belt, don't you think Jabril would have been even more likely to jump to a P5? Of course he would have. So all your FBS ranting is just BS. And we aren't getting into the Mountain West.

not if we are a Boise State caliber program.
So what do we get for winning the fcs title 26 out of the next 30 years?
the "plateau" and "stagnation" are already here folks.

Re: A new and better FBS thread
At least you have a new narrative to fit your agenda. Still doesn’t fix the real issues that keep us from an fbs move. Money, location, media market, etc. I guess we have a good football team.

SEC>Boise State.
And 26 more titles gets us a bigger trophy case. Which is better than 26 boring bowl games

If you spent as much time and effort fund raising for an fbs move as you do following social media & other boards you could make it happen!
