Re: Masters Golf and Any Other Miscellaneous Golf Discussion
Uh, don't look now but this guy Charlie is kind of tearing it up out there. When he gets to the big stage I don't think pressure will effect him much.

Apparently he got smack game too.

In the process he hit a 5-wood from 175 to within a few feet. Pretty sure I could swing at a full bucket of balls and not pull that off.

Re: Masters Golf and Any Other Miscellaneous Golf Discussion
Charlie looks like he will be a really good golfer. I just hope the media leaves him alone and allows him to grow up .

Well said Mr Meaty. Remember these videos of Tiger as a young child and youth? (MangyOldBison is dating himself):
If you ever hear a guy talking about the time that he got closed out 9 and 8 and taken to the woodshed by a two year old baby, he may be referring to this guy:

Seasoned veteran:

Tiger at 14 (Charlie has still got some work to do):

That reminds me of a guy I used to golf with heffray. The guy was so used to shaving stokes and cheating that when he finally did get a hole-in-one, he marked it down as a 0 on the scorecard out of force of habit.

Merry Christmas to you and yours Sir! I realize now that running those pools ain't that easy, and that you did a particularly good job with your Masters pool! Here’s to you, 2021 being much kinder, Amy’s first and maybe a major win to honor Captain Lee Olson, and all good things for Bisonvillers, Bison students, profs, and alum, and everybody else not so fortunate in the New Year!:

Must spread rep.
Fair point however I doubt that the green had committed any particularly outrageous offense.

Yeah it’s not looking good at this point in his career. Very sad that we’ve maybe all watched our last Tiger round...

Re: Masters Golf and Any Other Miscellaneous Golf Discussion
I would say we can call it. Can't imagine Tiger playing truly competitive golf after this with all the health and emotional battles he has had I would have to think he hangs it up. It might not be an abrupt announcement of retirement but this is the beginning of the end. Maybe he'll join the senior tour in a few years to keep his name in the sport and keep his endorsement game strong.

I think we’ve talked about this before, but I don’t see Woods playing on the Champions Tour.

I wonder if this changes that? Before, he could have potentially finished the comeback in a respectable way, then walked away on his own terms. After this, he most likely can’t, so no closure...his competitiveness (and ego) may push him toward the CT....

I also wonder if this changes things. Maybe it will take him 10 years but at some point does he crave some level of competitive golf, the spotlight and the love of the fans and decides to join the Champions Tour for a couple years as sort of a farewell tour.

Re: Masters Golf and Any Other Miscellaneous Golf Discussion
Perhaps. I’ll believe it when I see it...
Or maybe he can caddie for Charlie when he goes pro? ;)

Re: Masters Golf and Any Other Miscellaneous Golf Discussion
It looks and sounds from all reports that he is very fortunate to have just survived that accident, so very pleased for that on behalf of his children and family. Hogan made a comeback from a terrible crash, so perhaps Tiger can do the same. The game is better with him in it. Prayers for a complete and maybe even a miraculous recovery!

Re: Masters Golf and Any Other Miscellaneous Golf Discussion
Don’t know if anybody saw the end of the men’s PGA event at Puntacana, but it sure vividly drove home the difficulty and the extreme emotion of winning on either tour in this era. A handful of players seem to make it look easy, but most have to really fight and sweat blood for it, and the majority never attain it. Couple videos:

It is pretty darn weird watching these guys ground their clubs in the sand at Kiawah today. Just strange. I wonder how many calls have already been made to report rules infractions.
