Mcfooly said that NDSU fans will be surprised how good UN_ is.
I tuned in around 12:45 on my way home from the gym, and only lasted about 5 minutes. I waited to see if that guy was joking and he wasn't, and then proceeded to say there would be a lot of little things like this that make this week and game so special. I threw up in my mouth a little and turned it off. It's gonna be a long week.
You have found the 1 gem in a huge pile of dung.
"It's great for the colleges, fanbase, city, state, region, and all of college football." Great argument. The only thing I see it being "great" for is whichever city hosts the game, and in this case, it is fairly negligible, because we sell out our games no matter who we are playing. I don't see this bringing in any additional revenue for F/M than would playing Delaware St. Maybe it would be good for Grand Forks, but would a sold-out Alerus (12,283 people) really bring in so much more than their typical 7,486 (2014 statistics) in attendance to be considered "great" for the city? Not many Bison fans (if we could get tickets) would spend 1 flipping penny in that town.
"Ya, but you won't always be on top." We will cross that bridge when it happens. We will keep selling out as long as we are in the running for a conference championship every year. We don't have to win a national championship every year to keep bringing 18,000+ to every home game.
Slightly disagree, the date you're looking for is October 29th, 2011 as the day the Fargodome crowd's testicles dropped: North Dakota State 27, Northern Iowa 19
Watching the pase couple championship DVD's, I seem to recall some great McFeely quotes. I remember seeing a picture of a McFeely article stating something to the affect of wins will be put on hold. I also rememeber hearing him saying that their would be a drop off after the 2013 season with all the seniors gone. He is like any other Bison hating fan. Hopes for the worst and then looks like an idiot when they are wrong.
Why do you guys not want to play UND?
McDipshit is about the only flaw the Bison Culture has had the last 4 years
Why don't we want to play them? We have everything to lose and they have everything to gain.
But for those who want to play them, its as simple as beating the crap out of your old rival.
And because NDSU still has something to prove.
I mean there are several lopsided rivalries throughout the country that are still played annually. USC beats UCLA almost all the time, Oregon creams Oregon State every year now etc etc. NDSU would smack around UND for a few years. Nothing to gain? Then why play a team like Weber? Same thing there
Trust me. All of you that still live there need to understand how few fucks are given about North Dakota outside of the bubble.
Coach said it best, it's important to the alumni and it's an in-state game. It means something, that's why everybody is trying so hard to deny that it does.
Weren't he and Izzo also pumping the Big Sky? Coming from an outside perspective, it seems as if the North Dakota media are in hype mode. Even after the MVFC went 4-0 against the BSC this weekend, Izzo was still on twitter pumping the BSC as Poly were playing well against ASU. Pretty sure your media types want this game to be everything they had hoped for. Personally, I don't see how UND stays within 3 scores. They just aren't that good.
Yeah, trips to Ames, Manhattan, Kinnick, Colorado State, Minnesota haven't been fun or helped us. In my opinion, those types of games help WAY more to the state of ND than a game with a horrible team - regardless of whether it's the Sue or someone else. I wish UND would work hard to get another FBS school on their calendar and work even harder to beat them versus whine about needing this game and why NDSU won't schedule them. BOTH schools beating FBS schools would be huge (think GameDay, etc.) for the state versus a game just because.
So if we had a hockey team as shitty as their football team...they'd schedule us and play in Fargo on our sheet of ice, right?
I am looking forward to the game like any other game...but will continue to hope we schedule games (Oregon, are you kidding me?) that any objective person sees as better for our FB team, our university and the state. Please keep scheduling awesome games like Montana, Iowa, Oregon, etc. until the Sue are relevant.
Do noname teams count?
And having this game played every year is important TO YOU. Many of the rest of us feel otherwise. And we really don't place any more importance on it than another OOC game. Yet, you keep coming on here and saying that those of us that feel that way are somehow "deniers" of it's importance.
