Also, FSU better not lose the CCG. If they do, we could see Auburn/Bama round 2 for the crystal ball.
Better yet, what happens if Winston gets charged with Rape? FSU absolutely has to suspend him if that happens.
The details that have come out so far are sketchy but something smells if the Police are still "Investigating" an incident that is almost a year old. WTF?

Yep this is very very sketchy. Apparently FSU has a policy that if a player is charged with a felony he is automatically and immediately suspended from competition. Coincidentally the police department is very very very thoroughly investigating this crime that is almost a year old. You know, just because they want to get it right. If, and it's a very big if, Winston is charged, I'm predicting the absolute earliest he'll see charges is January 7th, 2014.

And charges dropped January 8th by the victim - so purple I can't even find the right shade of purple

I could also see charges being dropped between now and then to coincide with a very large donation made to the victim from a anonymous booster. Of course none of that would be made public but if charges are dropped, I'll think that is what happened.

This Gopher-Syracuse Bowl game is bordering on unwatchable...Not sure if either of the Gopher QB's even crack our two deep.

My nine year old son just said the same thing. And what a pathetic crowd. That is all.

Is this one of those big time bowls?

Re: College Football FBS/FCS discussion thread
Gophers are on the verge of another epic failure....
-
Re: College Football FBS/FCS discussion thread
Yep, looks like once again they managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory...
-
Re: College Football FBS/FCS discussion thread
As a Minnesota native, this seems about right for one of our football teams. Ripping defeat from the jaws of victory.
-
Re: College Football FBS/FCS discussion thread
Not a big deal for them as nobody is there to see it
-
Re: College Football FBS/FCS discussion thread
Anyone else enjoying the meltdown over at the gopherhole?
-
Re: College Football FBS/FCS discussion thread
Wow...should had that hail mary.....right through his hands.
-
Re: College Football FBS/FCS discussion thread
Even better when a guy drops a ball in his hands in the end zone.

Re: College Football FBS/FCS discussion thread
And up next is the "Fight Hunger Bowl." Isn't there money paid to be a sponsor of a bowl game and wouldn't that money be better spent fighting hunger?

Someone go over there and tell them Minny would be 6-6 in the Valley this year.

not that it matters.

Re: College Football FBS/FCS discussion thread
We could have a better game in the tailgate lot next Sat than that farce of a game. And I used to think Cubs fans were the most delusional fans

All Jerry Kill has done is burn redshirts on QBs lol Shortell is at JSU now too. I saw him fail in the FCS playoffs. If that team had a consistent QB, it would be not terrible.
Makes you feel pretty fortunate for what we've had for 3.5 years. In Carson we trust...

Re: College Football FBS/FCS discussion thread
Well, I am ready to move up after seeing parts of that game and noting the attendance figures. No doubt in my mind that the money will be there and the fans will flock to the smaller bowl games. I also firmly believe that the Mountain West is shooting too low. It should be the B1G or nothing. Of course I would feel different if the SEC actually had a team North of Mizzou.
There is so much purple in that statement that showing it would likely blind someone.

Re: College Football FBS/FCS discussion thread
goophers lost to a mediocre acc team

Re: College Football FBS/FCS discussion thread
LOL!!!!
I thought they were going to crush a "shitty" Syracuse team.
Yeah, they could beat us this year.
Hey Goldenshower, am I still an asshat?
After watching glimpses of these early bowl games, moving up is not worth it. What's the difference, PUD bowl games or PUD FCS?
-
Re: College Football FBS/FCS discussion thread
Do they get some kind of prize for playing? Or at least a participation ribbon? :o

WTF goofies?
Bison didn't even have a chance to maul you this year.
So..........don't even try the "this is our worst team ever" shit.

Re: College Football FBS/FCS discussion thread
There are 70 teams playing in bowl games this year. 17 of them actually sold their full allotment of tickets.
-
Re: College Football FBS/FCS discussion thread
K-State throttled Michigan last night. The BIG is now 0-2 in bowl games so far this season and I think the conference will struggle to win 1 bowl game. The Big 10 is now officially the Big Fluffy of FBS.
Ha Ha, hey goldenshower, can I now go on Michigan's message board and tell them that we could beat them this year? After watching the game last night there is no doubt in my mind that we would beat Michigan in similar fashion.
For all you Gopher fans lurking on this board.........................
Minnesota <<<<< Michigan <<<<<Kansas State <<<<< NDSU.
Of course, they will never admit such a thing because, after all, they play in the mighty Big Fluffy. LOL

And one of those 17 was Navy.

Re: College Football FBS/FCS discussion thread
But how many of the bowls themselves made megabucks!
-
Re: College Football FBS/FCS discussion thread
I read an article this week about the allotments. They were negotiated with the last bowl agreements and will likely go down next year. The conferences still make a bunch of money on the bowls even the participating teams don't. It gave several examples of conferences helping to cover the costs for the teams so in the end it was not a major issue for the schools. The expense is the cost of doing business. If it was so bad they could always decline the invitation.
Think of a school like Middle Tennessee State. They now have more name recognition due to their bowl and NCAA basketball appearances. Even if they lose money they gain value. Butler is a great local example. My neighbor is the marketing director for their athletic department and it has significantly changed his job.

Re: College Football FBS/FCS discussion thread
Remember when Duke sucked in football? Blue Devils kicking the crap out of TAMU. 38-17 at the half and Duke gets the ball to start the 2nd half. Duke football actually scored more points in the first half than Duke basketball did today vs. Elon (38 vs. 35). Duke has scored on every possession in the 1st half; 5 TDs and a FG as time expired(Duke had 2nd & goal on the 1).

Re: College Football FBS/FCS discussion thread
I live in Clemson so I see a lot of ACC games and Duke has a good football team this year! I am not a fan of The Johnny Football Show, so I'm loving this! "Go Dookies!" :-)

Re: College Football FBS/FCS discussion thread
Easily one of the worst bowl seasons in recent memory. I have found myself watching very little this year.

This Duke aTm game is probably the best bowl game so far.

No way...I'd love to see him in purple and gold next year.
He is going to be like Favre...You will either love him (if he's on your team) or hate him.
