Thanks for the reminder. I'm going to try to watch some of it on TV although I have some yardwork to do after the weekend wind and thunderstorms. Nothing major, but we always end up with tiny elm tree branches up and down our block when it's really windy.

Maybe they had other commitments. As much as it pains you I'm pretty sure their life doesn't revolve around Bison football.

Maybe they don't like Carson? Or they don't like playing softball, focusing on preparing for training camp, etc.

I can understand Christian not going. He’s focused on the job at hand. Both he and Trey are focused and need to stay injury free.

Meh. Those that didn’t attend couldn’t take 1/2 nights off for a good cause during the off-season?

Well if he smells sour milk around his locker Carson can plan on looking for another team next year.

It's still football.
Look at the studies. Not listen to the coaches who get paid to coach football.
Oh, we stopped hitting hard in practice, so injuries went down...cool, how does that relate to real games?
Easy answer: You have more players available once the season starts and are much more likely to have them available on gamedays during the season if you can minimize the amount of injuries they sustain while practicing. This, overall, keeps your team more "fresh" and less banged up as you aren't constantly engaging in full contact sports. By limiting the amount of concussions and other injuries during practice you minimize the lifelong impact that those things can have on the athletes. Self-reported concussions (that occurred during practice) decreased by 57% among HS athletes once the 2014 rule changes on contact in practice was minimized, the amount of concussions sustained in games did not significantly change however.
Now, lets look at the NFL, and I'm going to look at the 2020 season vs the 5 previous season specifically because it's taking it to the extreme. No in-person workouts/practices, extended acclimation period before training camp and no preseason games, etc... but let's see how that season played out from an injury and competitiveness standpoint:
The average number of Missed Time Injuries (number of days players missed due to injury) annually for all NFL teams 3,524 per season in the 5 years leading to 2020. In 2020 that number dropped 23% to 2,716. There was also a 30% reduction in concussions. LEX strains were within the 5 year average as were ACL tears. This was in a year when points were up (12,692 which was the most in NFL history at that point with an average of 49.6 points scored per game), penalties were down and missed tackles were down. Average margin of victory was 11 points, 69.9% of games were within 1 score (8pts) in the 4th quarter, 43 games had teams come back from -10 points to win.

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
The Commanders have speed at receiver that can threaten horizontally or vertically, but at its core the Turner offense wants to go down the field. Since entering the league, Wentz ranks eighth in passing attempts of 20 air yards or more, 11th with 140 touchdown passes (eighth since 2017) and 19th in Total QBR (12th since 2017) according to ESPN Stats & Information research. During that same span, Washington's Total QBR ranks 31st and its 98 touchdown passes rank 28th.
That's why Zampese won't try to change a guy who likes to throw deep.
"I want that guy," Zampese said. "We've been looking for guys like this; there aren't too many like that. It's easier to get a guy to back off than to push a guy the other way. This is hog heaven for us. This is exactly what we wanted."

Don't forget they extended the season to make the owners some more money. I don't blame grown ass men for not wanting full contact during the off-season. They're professionals gosh dang it.

Would love if they also picked up Will Fuller.

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
It didn't take Carson Wentz very long to start talking about Terry McLaurin when he arrived in Washington back in March.
In his introductory press conference, the quarterback spoke of his initial impressions of the wide receiver when they first played each other during the 2019 season. Though both meetings ended in Eagles wins, McLaurin made his mark on the games.
"I watched him light us up in Philly, and I was like, 'That dude's special,'" Wentz told Julie Donaldson in the spring.

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
McLaurin is a very good route runner and one of the best seperators out there. Wentz will easily be his best QB up til this point.

Carson was throwing to wash WRS in Cali last week... why didn't NDSU have him, they should be having Wentz & Lance doing that every year.

At the North High field. I can just see former Bison QBs trying to convince their receivers that it will be more fun to work out in Fargo instead of Los Angeles.

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
Carson is going to face the biggest challenge of his career: I just saw a tweet from Jim Cramer praising him: Jim Cramer (@jimcramer) / Twitter
Cramer is like a magic 8-ball, if a magic 8 ball could give fraudulent advice on its own TV show. Hell, CNBC should give Magic 8-Ball a show.

Pretty sure he was talking about the wedding ring he said it again after Carson said no the first time. Then after no he was like you could just get another one... [emoji23]

Wedding band, and a clear example of the stupidity you encounter in DC.
