Of course it is. They are so well known that they get more money than other MW schools do for the TV contract. Bar room discussion in Dallas isnt an indicator of relevance

Lol everyone knows that Boise State exists. Most probably know that Boise is the biggest program in the MW. That doesn’t mean they aren’t an afterthought. How much time do you think the average CFB fan spends thinking about Boise State in a given year? That is the definition of afterthought?

Except they aren't true. We went to the watch party in the Seattle area for the first game at Minnesota and every employee in the bar was wearing a Nebraska jersey because it was the bar for Cornhusker games and theirs was just ending when our game was starting.
