not sure but now its two years of transition to FBS
Re: A new and better FBS thread
1st public talking point about more seats being added is a clear FBS need for instant action.
New stadium is priority 1 for FBS we talking 42,000 seats. That's all.we need
Re: A new and better FBS thread
The City of Fargo won't spend a dime on a new stadium. In case you missed it in the article by Tran, any new seats for football in the Dome will be paid for by NDSU and not the City (that's what the comment about revising the lease with NDSU means).
Re: A new and better FBS thread
That's fine even though the city of fargo HAS TAKEN OVER BOTH ESPN GAMEDAYS & have made MILLIONS off NDSU & it's noteriety

There is truth in this statement.

And water is wet, the Sky is blue, and grass is green. So what?

This Sun Belt team is an up and coming program in FBS that has a fan base excited about the opportunity to play in a bowl game. GSU would likely bring a large following (ticket sales!!) to the game and make it seem as though their bowl game actually means something.
A 6 win team from the other conferences that places 4th or lower in their conference brings little fanfare at all.

You don't understand the exception. GSU can ONLY be selected if there aren't enough 6 win teams to fill the Bowls. ANY team with 6 wins must be selected before GSU this year.

The 10th place SEC team would outdraw them in heartbeat, plus you are talking about advertising revenue, and TV ratings. GSU means something to people here, means little if anything to FBS folks. Its a money thing and the P5 conferences have a lot more pull when getting schools into bowl games than the belt does.
Last year:
Belt had 2 bowl teams with 7 eligible teams.
8-4 WKU didn't get a game (WKU has just as much history and following as GSU if not more)

Sorry, I was answering the question as it was. I understand this year's rules going against them. I read the question as if it were in the future when GSU is fully bowl eligible.
