Quote from Dr. Polly Peterson, University of Jamestown President:
"Today's announcement is a vote of confidence for UJ and our entire community as we begin our first year of competition as a member of the NCAA in the incredibly well- respected NSIC conference. We are grateful to Erin Lind and her team for their generous support throughout the past two years. Today is an exciting day to be a Jimmie!"

I'm a big fan of what UJ has accomplished in such a short amount of time. However, I was talking to one of their students athletes the other day and he said that 75% of their students body are there to play sports. Is that correct Pucknut?

Not sure on exact percentages, that seems pretty high. But I wouldn't be shocked.

Not sure but I’m guessing that’s not far off

My daughter played BB at UJ. 19-20 were in her incoming class. 11-12 graduated from UJ. Of which 6 played bb all four years.
With this model, athletics brought in 5-6 additional freshman that didn't compete 4 years, but graduated from UJ. Wide range of degrees, accounting, nursing, biology, exercise science (then on to UJ Doctorate PT program in Fargo), grad school in my daughters case.
Puck can attest. Dr. Peterson is the real deal as university president. Using athletics to grow the student population is one tool they have come up with. e sports minor is another. Club teams such as Trap shooting have attracted students. UJ is one of few higher education institutions with a growing student population in the upper midwest. So I'm a big fan of the college and admin.
