hey! it's be nice to have a section to talk about all of this.
HONK HONK.

I predict Wentz stays at Colts, they get 1 more star WR & DRAFT OL & DEFENSE.
they go 12-5 & win a playoff game

I agree, but everyone is guilty of confirmation bias to support the position they want to take. We don't need to take this conversation political though so probably best to leave this alone. I'm sure vaccination/COVID played some role in any rift, but we have no idea what is actually involved and speculation only makes this get ugly.

Who knows, the guy writing the checks there has his own issues (as many of them seem to). More than enough blame to go around in this mess.

Maybe just the medically unnecessary ones? :howdy:

Just imagine how much hate Christian Watson is going to get because his name is Christian. Feel bad for him already.

Irsay had a Tweet on Super Bowl night see below. I wonder if he tried to force Wentz to get vaccinated and Wentz said no.

this does seem like a possible shot at Wentz but there are certainly other ways this could be interpreted.

it's not a covid thing you idiots.
it's a lack of a WR & PASS BLOCKING OLINE problem. oh an actual TE would help. Wentz best stats were when he focused on getting the ball to Zach Ertz.at philly

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
And maybe you could actually be all in without your team having your back and being all in for you.
Think on that for a bit.

You watched hardknocks and never cringed once?

The team had been playing well up until the COVID outbreak. The whole oline and Wentz got hit. Neither played well after that. I don’t disagree that the Colts need a true #1 receiver or a reliable burner on offense, but the oline and Wentz definitely played subpar after COVID. They could have still been feeling some effects, tiredness, brain fog, etc.

What's dumb is most of the Colts oline and their LB Darius Leonard weren't vaccinated either and actually missed games and played just as bad when they did but seems like it's only Carson taking the heat.

Parris Campbell from Ohio State could be that person if he could ever overcome his injuries. Some people are just snake bit. Thus drafting is at best an educated guess.

Where they is smoke there is fire. I still think he's their best option for next year. I hope he's back and has a great season. Article is likely behind a paywall.

Even absolutely loaded NBA teams that form super teams don't win it the first year. It takes time to learn about your teammates.
Too Bad the owner is a nut job.

Like T. Brady and M. Stafford to Tampa/Rams and Super Bowl wins?
I often wonder whether Wentz watches great QBs and considers whether to emulate some of what they do. The contrast between Brady/Rodgers/Stafford etc. is striking. Wentz ALWAYS seems on edge and over the top. Why can’t he just relax and throw to an open receiver without so much stress? Eff, how can he not know by now which one will likely be open? Just strange.

You make a valid point CAs. Although I will say both those teams had loaded WR rooms and even though I never liked Brady he is the Goat and by quite a ways so to compare anybody to him is quite unfair. Brady has made it look so easy over the years. Wentz in my opinion did slightly regress this year and has since that brutal concussion in my opinion but he can still make the colts better.

It is also worth noting that Stafford and Brady have way more experience than Wentz. Brady also brought Gronk with him to the Bucs. If I recall, there was a little adjustment at times that first year with getting WR’s on the same page. Both guys had powerhouse offenses though. The Colts aren’t there yet. They are more than a QB away. I have seen the Colts fans insist Rodgers would have taken them to the Superbowl. I actually think the Packers may have had a better total roster than the Colts this year if you ignore the QB position.

Treys going to need a good backup eh.

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
To my untrained eye, it looks like he's always looking to do way too much. Saw the same thing with Easton, but he seemed to fix that between his Jr. and Sr. years.

On and off the field. Those are grown ass men being paid to do a job in that locker room broz. They don't need the cliche sayings non stop.

As CAS pointed out he sometimes is not taking the easy read. To my untrained eye he looks like he has lost some confidence which can cause a slight delay in decision making which leads to late and poor throws. It just seems like sometimes QBs that get hit a lot get into this phase and he clearly was hit a lot last year with Philly and I still think that concussion played a factor, but I have no insider knowledge at all. I am just hoping he stays and improves and takes the Colts far into the playoffs, but please get him some WRs.

I think everything clicked in 2017. I don’t think things have clicked the same for him since and he has been pressing as a result.

Pittman is solid. They need a deep threat, Hilton is older now and they need a true Tight End.

I think after 2017 and maybe part of 2018, he was on Phily teams that would likely lose every game unless he had heroic/perfect type efforts. I think that did carry a bit with him to the colts.
