In all of this .. ..debauchery... isnt the only question worth asking, what has UND done in the last 10 years for anyone to consider this anything but a rivalry game , simply for being a rivalry? This is an old blood, nothing but a they said, we said, brother fight. Its irrelavent to both schools schedules respectively. This is about generating excitement about our biggest football teams in the state. That is enough for it to be fun for the alumni, students, and players alike, is it not? Talk championships and superiority all you want, but these schools have historic games that EVERYONE who was a part of them remembers.
I will say this, back in the day you were on one side or the other. Now we have fans who cheer for both teams. Sioux Hockey/Bison football. Bandwagon fans who cheer for whomever is doing better and go back and forth. During the rivalry you werent friends with any UND people and UND ppl werent friends with Bison ppl.
That doesnt sound very North Dakota or that true. Even the old duffers kept it in perspective.

Yep !
Imagine College GameDay here and some bimbos (male and female) yelling chants that can be perceived as racial slurs to the Sioux Indians in the U.S. ... how would that reflect on NDSU, Fargo, North Dakota. It would be the last time ESPN would be in Fargo, and it would destroy the extremely positive reputation Fargo presently has with them.
