Are there actual rumblings regarding the MAC?
A couple posters have said that they have heard there's some activity going on behind the scenes on the FBS front. It seems that the MWC doesn't want us unless half the conference leaves. And it has been independently reported that we told CUSA that we don't want them (dumbest, most short-sighted and unimaginative decision since Blockbuster choosing not to buy Netflix). That only leaves the MAC as a possibility if the behind-the-scenes stuff is going on. But if you go to the MAC discussion boards, there's not a murmur of such a move. So who knows.
I haven't seen any reporting anywhere that says the MW doesn't want you..That may be the case but the only thing that has come out publicly about possible MW expansion is that the tv providers are not willing to boost the contract to accommodate new schools...The contract runs through 2026.
UTSA, North Texas, UTEP, New Mexico State and Rice all sought an invitation from the MW. The MW members did not want to further cut a pretty small revenue pie to add anybody. When the negotiations for the next deal start up, NDSU may very well be part of the discussion.
Looks like a good listen

On this episode, Sam is joined by Matt Brown, the publisher of Extra Points. Matt discusses all things realignment, both FCS-to-FCS and FCS-to-FBS. Talking points include:
-What are the next moves for FCS conferences that are low on membership numbers, like the OVC, ASUN, and Southland? Is a conference merger on the table?
-How many D2 schools could we see move up to the FCS?
-What makes an FCS school a good target for an FBS conference?
-What is the future of FCS-to-FBS moves?
-Reasons why FCS-level athletic departments would want to go to the FBS.
-Was NDSU a C-USA target?
-What is NDSU’s path to the FBS?
-If the Mountain West lost teams to the Big 12, would it then look to NDSU or the Montana schools? And where is the Big 12 at on wanting to add more teams?
-Could a group of FCS teams form their own FBS conference?
-What FCS teams are all-in on trying to be FBS at some point?
-Will the Power Five ever split off from the Group of Five, creating a G5-FCS merger?
-And the likelihood of a G5 team/teams moving to the FCS like Idaho did.
