Why on Earth SHOULDN'T he try to compete for the starting role? Hell, I expect Easton to be competing for the starting spot. If he's not trying, what's even the point? Just kick back and collect your paycheck?
Reminds me eh of my neighbor who inherited this 5 hectare maple tree field eh. I said hoser you can’t tap ‘em all at once eh

When you play as awful as Wentz did last year you don't need anyone's help to get the divas (aka receivers) grumbling. He didn't get much help from them or his o-line but let's not kid ourselves that a lot of Wentz's problems were due to his own play. I think it was mostly a between the earholes thing so hopefully Reich and company can help him out with that and his new receiving corps in Indy will take care of themselves as long as Wentz is a productive passer and they're winning.

I thought maybe he deep fried the Philly cheesesteak.

Wentz should have just thrown all check downs all last season.

Dante Culpepper! Exact reason Randy Randy Moss left!

If you believe that Hurts was a Heisman candidate at Alabama, I’ve got some property for sale in West Fargo with a nice ocean view that you might be interested in. Haha.

The only thing Hurts did better than Wentz was run and that will change if he has to keep running. Hurts will be replaced after this season for the same reasons. He will be blamed for ineffectiveness, as well. Meanwhile, the eagles do the minimum to protect the qb or find guys who can hold onto the ball.

I think the key question regarding Wentz is which of 2 scenarios is the case:
1. The 2020 issue was mental, frankly understandable when he had 2 years of poor WRs, no RB, injuries to solid TEs, and degrading O line play. He had the same issues in 2019 and did a remarkable job getting the Eagles to the playoffs, but likely developed a mental process of needing to be a superman and do it all outside of a team framework. In 2020, lack of good WRs clearly led him to a lack of trust in releasing the ball in a timely manner, resulting in missed windows and getting sacked far too often.
2. The concussion of 2019 + wear and tear of ACL + physical impact of 100's of sacks on his body has had a greater effect on his physical/mental skills that are permanent and likely to lead to an earlier career finish, ala Andrew Luck.
I am both guessing and rooting for #1 to be the case. I think Indy will have a great year under Wentz.
