Re: Masters Golf and Any Other Miscellaneous Golf Discussion
This one is at 2:00 pm Central today folks. Live Sports! Peyton should be pretty entertaining.

I'm not sure if the article author is confused or trying to confuse us but he states the match is at 3 p.m. EST. Better check those TV schedules for correct time. I assume he meant EDT but you never know with all the fake news going around.

I completely agree with you on this. It was great. I loved watching Brady play - he plays just like me! I would have hit more fairways though. Jus’ sayin’.

That’s solid advice right there. Do you suppose he consults Giselle on wardrobe issues?

Now he can go dominate the Champions Tour.

I've often thought about this. I don't know about Phil, but Tiger doesn't seem like the type of guy who would play on the Champions Tour. I'd be willing to bet that once he decides to hang it up, he'll just be done with it and ride off into the sunset.

I don’t think Phil is riding off into the sunset, he loves action. Medical issues may retire him but that’s a different thing.

I don't know. I wonder how much he (and Phil) internalize the tradition and the history of the sport. It is (or it was) pretty magical to stand in the gallery surrounding the #1 tee box at Augusta as they called out the honorary starting threesome. Lot's of reverence accrued to those three players. I would think that would be hard to turn your back on. I mean, I would take any reverence, any at all, even from my dog. <sigh>

Yeah that’s my thinking as well... I can see Phil hamming it up on the Champions Tour.

Maybe “riding off into the sunset” isn’t the best analogy, I just don’t think he’ll be a Champions Tour player. For sure, I think he’ll be an honorary starter whenever he retires, and probably Phil, too.
I love the tradition of Gary, Arnie, and Jack teeing off. When Arnie passed, it was one of the most moving moments of any Masters to have that empty chair and the green jacket sitting there. Not a dry eye at #1.

It was windy and dusty that day, even in front of my tv.

Same here. And even as touching a moment as that was... it was worse for me when Tiger won last year and hugged his family. Fuck. That was... just the best sports thing I think I’ve ever witnessed.

I'm going on 4 years now, haven't been selected yet. A friend of mine has gone twice now. Another friend's ashes are spread on the course, https://media1.giphy.com/media/NdKVE...&rid=giphy.gif

The way that you phrased that reminds me of this Meaty: "The sea was angry that day my friends...."!:

Bryson Dechambeau hit a drive 428 yds in competition yesterday. And made bogey.

I always opt for a little cart path boost when available. It's just smart golf. Hitting approaches from the short grass just gets boring. Or so I have been told.

That’s what I’ve been told as well... it’s me, though, telling myself.

What? You go -1 on El Zagel with only a 7-iron but have never had a handicap below 10? Weird, dude...

Have you ever golfed Zags? It’s a very easy course. But also... something about a blind squirrel and an acorn applies here, I think...

Ha, good point. 40 lbs really does seem like way more than reasonable.

I’ve noticed he really gets after it on some, and holds back on others. The ones where he swings his hardest, though, you’re right, it looks painfully violent.
