Re: Who is Attending the Minnesota Game?
A good portion of the Horny Bison tailgate group including me (about 10 people) will be staying at the Days Inn next to the stadium. Plan to tailgate in the motel parking lot. Have not secured tickets yet.
Anyone else staying there that plan to tailgate with us?
-
Re: Who is Attending the Minnesota Game?
When do the tickets for the game go on sale?

And my van right next to your bus. There will be at least 13 of my family members there. There will be tons of other assorted people that show, so I think kegs might be in order. They are the easiest, cheapest, and everyone loves a keg stand! I still have the three, 50 gallon garbage cans that I used for kegs at my wedding...gotta keep the spares on ice.
The Days Inn lot is not part of the official TCF Bank Stadium lots, http://stadium.gophersports.com/docs...Tailgating.pdf, so I think kegs will be allowed. I don't want to call the hotel and ask. It is better to beg for forgiveness than ask for permission.

Is my legal retainer still valid if you're in jail right next to me?

It will be for a later occasion. We'll be contacting CAS4127. He who represents himself has a fool for a client.

The DI cruiser now has a new owner. They will be there (and hopefully I will be with them), I just don't know where.

The side to the left when you enter through the open end of the horseshoe. Sections 101-117 and 201-219 roughly. Sections 110-111 and 210-211 are closest to the 50 yard line.

There are no privately owned lots that allow tailgating legally near campus including the Days Inn. Minneapolis ordinance only allows it around the Metrodome.

Not in the privately owned lots. No booze allowed. Most places won't even allow tailgating. Station 19, now Buffalo Wild Wings, used to have tailgating "without" booze before the restaurant took over control of the parking lot.

but there are lots that do allow it nearby TCF? or is it just for alum and donors? where do the visiting fans go?

If we are concerned about this at the Days, hopefully we have some rooms that are attached to one another!!

Re: 2011 Gopher Game... Let the Planning Begin
I just called there out of curiosity because I'm looking for a place to park this year also. No tailgating allowed, you can pretty much bet they enforce it.
The good tailgate lots are owned by the ticket holders with seating priority, i.e. donors.

Season ticket holders are the only ones with access to the university tailgate lots you see on that map someone posted. I'm guessing if you buy tickets, you'll want to inquire about the parking arrangements. You can also park and tailgate at the state fairgrounds for $10 on game day. They have shuttles to and from the bank.

There are plenty of tailgating spots, you just have to be a season ticket holder to buy them. There are no game day purchases. I used to park at Station 19, which was really the only private lot that allowed tailgating.

Re: 2011 Gopher Game... Let the Planning Begin
Basically, to tailgate close to the stadium, one needs to secure a parking pass.
Available locations for single game parking
* West Bank (limited availability): 19th Avenue Ramp and 21st Avenue Ramp (No tailgating allowed)
* St. Paul: Lot S108 (Tailgating allowed)**BY STATE FAIRGROUNDS**
* East Bank: East River Road Garage and Lot C79 (No tailgating allowed)

Do we start planning for Colorado State next next year?
-
Re: 2011 Gopher Game... Let the Planning Begin
Looks like USD has better tailgating than that...
-
Re: 2011 Gopher Game... Let the Planning Begin
Well, this latest development may change things. What / where is the official NDSU / Alumni Associaton hotel? Can we tailgate there? If there is not tailgating for visiting fans, the party van will probably stay in the garage this weekend, and end up taking the mini-van down instead.

Re: 2011 Gopher Game... Let the Planning Begin
The latest from the alumni association...
Quote:
Schedule of Events
Current schedule of events. Schedule will evolve, so check back frequently.
Friday, September 23 – MSP downtown establishment will be named as the Friday night Bison gathering place
Saturday, September 24 – Bison Tailgate Party at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds.
Bring your vehicle, food and beverages.
Buses and RVs welcome.
Shuttles run from the fairgrounds to TCF Stadium on private game day roads and will bring you back to the fairgrounds post game.
Tailgating begins 6 hours before kick-off, but not before 7 a.m. and will end 4 hours after game concludes or midnight, whichever comes first.
No vehicle? Take shuttle from TCF Stadium and join the Tailgate Party.
I don't know about that 'but not before 7am' line....
