Re: FBS move fans. Here's a good read
What kind of bugs me about Lakes/Strongman/DragonsFan* etc is that they insult people who would listen to and execute an actual plan.
There are three monumental obstacles to a successful FBS move.
1. A conference invitation.
2. Coming up with an extra $16 million per year.
3. The shakeup in the BCS means that you could be committing to something that might no exist in a year. Remember the WAC Attack?
To address Problem 1, the LakesBison Plan is to insult everybody who brings it up. Maybe he wants another "pump-it-up" email campaign of direct marketing to MWC Presidents and Athletic Directors? Which begs the question: Are you f**king high?
To address Problem 2, the LakesBison Plan is to insult the intelligence of everybody who brings it up. "Blah, blah, blah, profit" is not a plan, btw.
To address Problem 3, the LakesBison Plan is to pretend it isn't a problem, which might be true. It might be an opportunity.
So you have no plan to get there, you can't make a business case as to why we'd want to get there, and all you do is insult people who have helped pay to make NDSU football what it is now (you know, the ones who actually donate to NDSU and view it as something more than a party venue.)
* And, yeah, I'm aware that Lakesbison=dragonfan=strongman.

People still actually listen to that blowhard?
Re: FBS move fans. Here's a good read
Since it was such a lowly joke of a game for Lakes why did he bother attending? I saw him down here with my own eyes.
I am a supporter of a well executed move up plan not throw crap at the wall it will stick since we're THE mighty Bison plan that lakes and his followers are trying to push on here.

I wanted to see him play right away and he would of there. My talking him into going to UND was this. I said you could go there and start right away but it's your decision. End of conversation. Go ahead and ask Carson about it. Once again I'm a fan of both schools as I have no horse in either race. I supported his decision to go to NDSU. Now it's his turn to help bring a 4 peat.

UCF and Georgia State are really ineligible for the debate. The only reason they were FCS at all was because NCAA rules don't allow you to go straight from no football to FBS. An honest debate would be to look at historic IAA/FCS schools that made the move and what their situations were before and after. Off the top of my head, there has been one massive success, a couple okay successes, a bunch of mild failures, and a few colossal failures. We shouldn't completely rule out a move up because of all the failures, but we also shouldn't decide to go just because of what Boise State has done. Look at how well the "well they did it, so it should be easy for us" mentality has worked out for our friends up north. It's lazy thinking.

Best description of Lakes? Big Hat No Cattle.
There are some "fans" we can do without.
Gene will decide when the time is right. That's good enough for me.

Chea.....
1979-1981 NCAA Division III
1982-1989 NCAA Division II
1990-1995 NCAA Division I-AA
1996-20XX NCAA Division I-A
Prolly helps that their enrollment is over 60k now as well (11k in 1978 and 18k in 1989 when they moved to I-AA).
