- Updated list with two QB prospects mentioned in Kolpack/Hallstrom blog by Steve Hallstrom.
- Updated QB Capsules with information about the two new QB prospects.
I'd be interested in that too - I'm not sure about the stats for either player that I put in the Quick Recruiting Guide. I did see that there's a chance that one of them, Jorgensen, might end up playing baseball.
Off-topic: I hope we get a great WCO QB. It seems to me that the staff has been a little too fixated on getting a dual-threat QB when that is not really a priority for the WCO (unless they're tweaking the offense). If I'm right about this (and it doesn't seem likely given my track record), I wonder how much that has to do with our defense's difficulties to stop a running QB? Meh, if we are going to recruit RBs as QB, we might as well let them run :)
That said, I've got nothing against QBs who run a lot in HS - at least it shows that they are athletic.
So where is Kolpack getting his information that Anders Lee is no longer on the radar and has decided to play hockey? I don't recall anyone here posting that he made that decision. Both Lee and Westendorp are the only 2 QB's that NDSU has offered to date so if true there is only one on the table now. Hopefully there is a talented JUCO or FBS transfer being worked on that we have not heard about (coach Bohl, please surprise us with an announcement of a great find like this). Again, if Lee is out of the running Westendorp is clearly the next best thing. After that I am concerned that NDSU will again be settling for less than hoped for......the addition of a couple more somewhat unknown QB's from Wisconsin as options sure makes it seem that way.
From Kolpack's Blog:
2. NDSU has five QB's on their radar (some, like Edina's Anders Lee would be on it, but have chosen to play other sports in college.)
3. I believe AJ Westendorp of Holland Christian in Michigan (6-2, 210) is their top choice. He does not have an FBS offer as of yet, but it's expected that he will before signing day. He is the only QB that I've been able to confirm that has a campus visit scheduled (as of a week or so ago). He will not be in Fargo until January 17th, though, so this position will likely come down to the proverbial wire.
I believe that there was an article linked somewhere on here last week that quoted Lee saying he planed to play hockey.
There is a good article on the kid who verballed to UND. He chose UND over SDSU. Sounds like a nice athlete. wisconsinpreps.com has the article.
Yes, Chris Heisenberg's very reliable college hockey recruiting site now has Lee committed to Notre Dame.

I don't think he was ever interested in playing football at the FCS level. He has had long-standing offers at big-time hockey schools. When he indicated that he was interested in playing football in college, my take was that he was hoping for an offer from the Gophers, or at least a very good FBS program.
This was on MinnesotaPreps.com on December 26:
In the end, this is just the way it is in FCS recruiting. NDSU is very rarely going to get a kid who has a scholarship offer to Notre Dame, whether it be for football or another sport.Quote:
The 32 rushing touchdowns of Edina quarterback Anders Lee had fans from around the state wondering what kind of football interest he would receive but it seems as Lee will stick with hockey.
"The recruiting process is going ok," Anders stated. "I will be playing hockey in college due to how the football recruiting is going. So basically it's been pretty slow."
As a point of clarification, I think his other offer was USD, not SDSU:
