Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
They planned to play Oladokun all week. The Chiefs ran a preseason game and Denver played like it was the playoffs. Throw the tape away on this one. Nothing to be gleaned from anything the Chiefs did today. Only thing worrisome is the missed field goal by Butker since it wasn't that long of a kick.

It's a known physical phenomenon when you are running forward like that. They is no rule you could write that would make that a backward pass. If you said the player who caught it was behind the guy who through it, there are a lot of forward screen passes from the pocket where that is true also. Forward/backward is pretty straightforward.

That is incorrect. You could be running and then literally turn around and take a few backward steps while you are throwing backward and, as the laws of physics dictate, though the ball would appear to be traveling backward from the point of view of the ball carrier, it could be moving forward in physical reality. You could write a rule that says the player is behind the ball carrier in physical space and I think it would actually make more sense.

Can the Coriolis effect be applied?

Had to look that up… I don’t think so? Seems like it shows up more in astrophysics than what we can observe on earth? Could be wrong though…

As far as I know this is accurate.

It's not uncommon for the back to be behind the QB on a screen pass when the pass is released, but the pass goes forward (think of a flare pass in the flat...it just happened in the Vikings game). If that pass is dropped, by your rule, it's still a live ball even though it's obviously forward. Conversely, on a bubble screen to a wideout, there are times the receiver may still be in front of the QB when the pass is released but catches a backward pass.
Basing is on the location of the players at the time of the pass is illogical and counter to the basic fundamentals of football. If you are going to flip it to a back behind you while running downfield, you need to make sure you are throwing it behind where you release. Hard to do but doable.

That’s not why they pulled him. Lol. Reid loves Carson and doesn’t need him to get hurt.
