I don't buy the logic that "NDSU is winning a lot in the FCS so they should move up to FBS" any more than I bought the "NDSU just had a losing season in D2 so it's crazy to move up to DI" back in the day.
We've seen what happens when other programs (like UND) half-ass their move and it isn't pretty. If NDSU moves up, there has to be a plan (not a pipe dream) to get to the top of their new conference with coaching salaries, income, recruiting budget, and facilities. And, of course, there has to be a conference willing to let a shark into their fish tank.
Western Illinois has 2 finalists for head coach job, Charlie Fisher and
Rob Ash. Ash was recently let go as Head Coach by Montana State.

Fisher has spent the last two years as the associate head coach at Richmond, working as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. This season, the Spiders advanced to the semifinals of the FCS playoffs (10-4 overall record) while earning a 'Top 10' national ranking.
What, no math class? No VA-like drama?Quote:

Minnesota Gopher QB Jaques Perra to transfer, was 3rd team back-up.
Originally a preferred walk-on for the Gophers.
(still think he'd look good as a Dragon)
(Perra was a NDSU recruiting interest as a Roseville HS senior)

Perra will have three years of eligibility remaining if he moves down a level to the Football Championship Subdivision or lower. As a senior at Roseville, he was named the Star Tribune Metro Football Player of the Year, as well as the Minnesota Gatorade Player of the Year.

NDSU fans got to see Holmes twice this year, get to see Kupp next season.
