If only NDSU had connections in on conversations about this who’s voices would grow significantly louder with TX and OK out of the room.

From what I understand, they split the revenue and then schools have additional individual contracts. Texas gets an additional $15 million from the Longhorn network, I don't think the B1G could top that. Big 12 seems to be doing pretty well right now financially. Not including the 3rd party deals they are within $2.2 million per school of the B1G.

Maybe, but UTA is a premier public research university and I have no doubt that it annoys them to no end to have to be associated with the likes of Baylor, TCU, and Texas Tech.
OU on the other hand … but like I said before, if you're going to add Nebraska …

Re: A new and better FBS thread
OU/Tex to Big 10
CSU/Houston to Big 12.
NDSU to MWC. (wouldn't it elavate our other programs as well? like Softball, they play in trash summit and dominate)
Recruiting wise, we could cherry pick recruits from the other 3 Dakota schools.

Hey it’s after April 1. Are you yourself yet?
I appreciate your enthusiasm for the MWC. You have no idea how much, actually.
But no FBS conference will even sniff at NDSU until ND completely overhauls higher ed, and that would require significant turnover in state politics. NDSU’s problem right now is that 1/3 of the state hates Cass County while another 1/3 hates NDSU. That attitude has to die off before meaningful change will get any traction.
FBS is a bet and the state has to back it. There's no way they will right now.
So …. we just keep dominating FCS and soon the trophies will be rolling out the doors of the Fargo Dome and the other Dakota schools will hate us even more. I’m down with that.
I stole this from the LSU board, but NDSU has figured out (though utter dominance at this level) how to make the FCS as lucrative as the G5, and it’s gonna be hard to walk away from that.

State of ND wont even raise Driver License fees to offset the Hemorrhaging of money from the DMV...they rob Peter to pay Paul from the pot that should be used to Build and maintain infastructure instead, dumbest thing I have seen in a long time

Re: A new and better FBS thread

They’ll (Big 10) try to gain more said value by adding both Big 12 powers OU and Texas. They’ll target the two schools for addition in 2024-25.

Due to the length of the contract, I feel ESPN comes out ahead in this deal.

if would offset the entire cost of adding two womens sports and the requisite increase in football funding

You have yet to show any reason that those kids would have come to NDSU even if we were FBS. Power 5 vs Mac?????
Then you would still be bitching that we were losing recruits to a power 5 conference because we were stuck in the WAC, MWC, MAC etc etc etc.
Its a never ending loop.

Yeah pretty tough to project. Doubt the MAC or MWC get many P5 kids.

I don't need attention. trust me.:irslow:

Re: A new and better FBS thread
What would make El Chapo happier? NDSU to FBS or move NDSU across the river?
Serious question as I'm not sure there is a clear cut winner.

Re: A new and better FBS thread
its so sad that NDSU Admin hasn't reached out to FBS conferences. This run might end and we will never get another chance to use momentum like this to get into a FBS conference. We will begin to stagnate and plateau its inevitable playing also ran programs & regional patsies.

Re: A new and better FBS thread
So you're still under the impression that the quality of your football program determines an FBS invite? I would have thought all these years of debate would have taught you better.

Wait---you mean Chapo wants NDSU to go FBS? :omfg:
-
Re: A new and better FBS thread
yes it helps their conferences Day 1. and sadly its probably a reason they won't invite us as NDSU football would be a top 3 in any G5 conference.
Fargo has 250,000 citizens. media market 115 there are much much worse markets.
Passionate fanbase , good facilities, olympic sports are successful

Who are these "numerous" contacts?

Re: A new and better FBS thread
i wont expose them as alot of jealous people have already labelled me from 10 years ago. so thats that.
it just really bothers me that with our incredible success that ndsu admin has settled and refuse to improve our alma mater. what we going to do, win 23 more fcs titles in next 25 years? we dont belong here and we are subsidizing this entire league with playoff money/frisco money and travelling fanbase money locally. basketball has 2 NCAA basketball credits in 5 years for the summit on top of football success.
thanks for the discussion.

Its obvious that you havent changed from 10 years ago so why do you keep inferring that you have. Still trying to play the jealous card I see.
