Perhaps Hellendrung could project to LB.
A Wisconsin LB I did not include is this prospect who would be an awesome get as a recruit:
https://247sports.com/recruitment/be...ruitinterests/
Has 14 offers, including Kansas.
Just tweeted a few days ago about a scheduled visit to Lawrence and just took a visit to Madison.
Other offers for Ben Wenzel include Thee SDSU,
Aztecs plus Wyoming Buffalo Western Michigan Miami (Ohio)

Yes thank you. See my next message in the thread.
Hellendrung is my guess.

I remember an OLB that was that size as an incoming recruit.....Travis Beck. Turned out ok.

Underwhelming start to recruiting. I could be off base though, maybe it will pick up.

Must be time to start a "We will never win another national championship under Polasek" thread.

Good one! :)
I would mention that Coach Jackson had a really good reputation
as a recruiter when he was previously at SDSU.
Him being from Omaha makes for a challenge for NDSU in Nebraska.
The rebuild might happen faster than some people thought.
If so, that would be very impressive, considering the previous
Jackrabbits Culture Club Coaches really decimated SDSU’s roster.*
So perhaps part of what we see is SDSU having more schollies to work with and doing well with them…
*kinda like what is happening to Jackrabbits men’s basketball right now…

That is a big wow!
Tucker Thieneman is one of those Wisconsin Offers I didn’t list
the other day because he had to be going FBS with those offers, riiight?
Wow! Great to see…
Ole Miss, Florida, Missouri, Maryland

Re: 2026 Recruiting Updates
The pitch for our OL getting drafted goes a long ways.
-
Tucker Thieneman OL - commit
Tucker Thieneman 6-5 305 OL
Pewaukee Wisc
Offers = Ole Miss, Florida, Missouri, Maryland
wow, 1 of the biggest NDSU recruits ever based on those offers!
Junior Highlight Video - https://www.hudl.com/video/3/1786421...1f23f3e9fe3356
PS- when i talked to Coach P last week he said this "Not as much Scholly money or spots this year! Character sets the ceiling. Thanks for the support Go Bison!"
So that's why this Recruit was a Big Homerun for Coach. So Awesome !!!

Whoa that's huge

The chance of being a 1st or 2nd round pick at OL is arguably an easier path at NDSU

Billy Turner (3rd round), Dillon Radunz (2nd round), Cody Mauch (2nd), Cordell Volson (4th) Joe Haeg (5th round) were drafted and have had good careers
Jalen Sundell and Jake Kubas are on current NFL rosters
Nash Jensen is a free agent and in the UFL, but started a year for Carolina. Zack Johnson and Paul Cornick had recent stints in the NFL
Joe Haeg played 7 years in the NFL and almost caught a TD from Tom Brady in the Super Bowl. Billy Turner retired after earning 31 million.
Even going back to the Division 2 days, Pete Campion (7th round) and Rob Hunt 5th round
The NDSU pro day had reps from every NFL team
If you earn a starting job at NDSU and have the NFL measurables, you have a better than average chance of having an NFL career than most teams. Even some players we as fans viewed as average are having good careers
And were ONLY talking about offensive lineman. Not the 3 current NFL QBs, a 2nd round Wide Receiver, and a Dallas Cowboy Running Back. Or Chris Board who has managed to stay in the NFL for his 8th year

---I hope Tucker Thieneman's verbal does not morph into a bargaining ploy go extract more $$$$$$$$ from one of the above FBS schools. ...for now I will trust Tucker's reasons for choosing NDSU and I will with hope and great excitement look forward to more years of a strong Offensive Line.

Reading through the tea leaves on X… appears UND may have gotten a nice OL recruit that lives just outside the Fargo metro. Hope I’m wrong, don’t think I am.
