So many things go into a decision like this that it's hard to say - the advantage NDSU has, I imagine, is that his relatives could see him play (not that the WI to Fargo road trip is a cake walk but it's doable).

Wisconsin has some very, very good H.S. football, at the bottom of the link posted about the O-Lineman from WI, it has a little thing on Juckem, states a 4.6 Forty, could be a very, very nice DE or TE. It would be big signing for NDSU.
Hope we get this kid.
I wish that they would come down here and look at some players. I don't think that it's a good idea for the Bison to recruit a ton of southern players...but they could find some speed down here...and players that get overlooked because they're in the USC/UCLA zone. I don't know of a DII program close by, and the closest FCS program is up north a ways...Cal Poly & Cal Davis.
Find Riverside east of LA...and look to the southeast of Riverside to what's called the Inland Empire. A lot of the better HS teams look like college teams, in size & quickness.
There has to be some diamonds in this huge 'rough.'
Maybe they already do.
No doubt about it, California is a huge area that needs to be hit during recruiting. I am sure they get out there, but I think for those players that have a huge big play ability, the speedsters, you have to hit the California's, Texas's, Florida's, and so on. The level of play in high school football in those states is so far above everywhere else in the country, and the talent that comes out of there shows it. The Longhorns never leave Texas, and look how they are doing. Those 3, I believe produce over 200 D1 recruits, per state, a year...compare that to MN which has what 15 is good year? There is a lot of talent in those states, just have to get them here.
I was in Jefferson wisc over thanks. ( 20 miles from beaver dam ) heard the jacobs kids is REALLY interested in NDSU and is a complete stud, he was in the paper for all-area team, etc. seems like he could be a steal if we get him.
you can put Lee Anders Edina on that list.
Veramah Sonie (spelling) could be another kid.
Is the Anders Lee a real possibility...or a dream? Would he give up Harvard? Think that was the school.
I'll try to get on the inside track involving Christopherson from Osseo....
Please remember not to get too involved with this, especially contacting the kids. NDSU doesn't need any issues related to NDSU boosters contacting students or even being over-zealous in this whole process. The coaching staff has proven that they will get a good recruiting class and they really don't need any help in the process.
Caleb Nelson from Forman, ND was recieving interest. Told me he was at the SDSU game. Bohl gave him the tickets. He's around 6'3 250-260. NDSU sent a coach to watch him in Basketball practice and check his work ethic. Came to summer camp at NDSU.
New offer - Arrowhead OL Jared Volk (6-4, 287).

Kolpack had a bit of an update on the Fargo South prospect: http://www.areavoices.com/bisonmedia/?blog=37561

another link for him

Kolpack did a nice job reading Bisonville to get that last bit of info from "rivals." The internet has made their job so easy it is pathetic.
What about Tydan Storrusten? 6-2, 195, QB, from Pelican Rapids, one of 10 finalists for Minnesota's Mr Football, 3 sport superstar getting looks from schools in all three sports...football-QB, basketball-guard, baseball-ss & pitcher
2008 stats
74% completion percentage (102 for 138)
1578 yards
27 touchdowns
1 interception
88 carries for 569 yards (6.5 ypc) and 9 td's
This kid has a rocket for an arm and is very accurate (see 1 int). I'd expect big things from this kid in college in whichever sport or sports he decides to play.
Ryan Drevlow from Gwinner, North Dakota (North Sargent High School). DT 6-3 265 or something like that. I'm pretty sure he holds an offer from NDSU.
Added 15-20 names thanks to the posts made here (now those posts are in the main recruiting thread) and a quick trip to the rivals.com database search.
Shane Cronin - S - 6'2" 210 LBS. - Arizona Western College (AZ) JC - ESPN says interest, Rivals does not...
Jayme Well - RB - 5'11" 185 LBS - Kimberly, WI
Jayme Wells signed a LOI with Northern Illinois to play baseball. So he is no longer considering football or NDSU.
Tony, could you add the position(s) these guys are playing on the list. Also fill in height / weight for the few where not provided. Thanks!
How/when can we find out about walk-on players that currently practice with the team, if any of them will be offered?
