"I would say that we are looking for members that will grow over time as we grow," Bowlsby said...
That sounds like a direct request for NDSU. That said, we may as well apply.
10 schools that could join the Big 12.

If Colorado State gets invited to the Big XII, do you foresee the Mountain West wanting to expand by inviting the Montana schools, or are they too much of a step down?
If UCLA and BYU join the Big XII, which is the more likely situation I see happening, how do you think the PAC12 will expand?
I really don't think the BigXII wants to go with a directional Florida school or a city-name school like Cincinnati, Houston or Memphis. It would almost seem preferable to have like Colorado State and Wyoming join at that point, just because the schools are more in line research and land grant wise and could be travel partners.
Thanks for the out, but no, I said what I meant. I got the idea from this, which is probably pretty far fetched: http://espn.go.com/college-football/...ms-join-big-12
I can't believe we are going on 6 straight titles and 10 years of complete domination of the watered down fcs AND OUR PRESIDENT & AD won't even make an attempt to solicit the mountain west or big 12 or Mac. It's actually embarrassing, I travel a lot and EVERY FAN that I run into says "my god NDSU could be a huge name at FBS!" I totally agree, we are selling ourselves short and the small town North Dakotan in us is holding us down.... Its like a High school team staying the class below to trophy chase
Thought I'd do some searching on reddit for some B12 expansion news and came across this
https://bedlambrother.com/2016/07/24...pansion-ideas/
Disclaimer - I in no way think an invite is coming, but as far as I can tell, these guys have no connection to NDSU, so is there more of a discussion than "that 5 in a row is pretty cute"?
Big 12 to interview 17 schools about expansion, sources say
Not to stir the pot but that's only 15 schools listed... there's two mystery schools out there...Quote:
Among the 17 schools that will make their presentations to the Big 12 are Cincinnati, Houston, BYU, South Florida, UCF, UConn, Memphis, Colorado State, Boise State, Tulane, Temple, East Carolina, SMU, New Mexico and Northern Illinois, sources said.

Have to admit, my first thought was the other two were Colorado and Nebraska.
ESPN says one of the schools is San Diego State (http://www.espn.com/college-football...ools-expansion), so apparently there is one mystery school left.
Is the move to FBS more or less appealing now that the GoDaddy Bowl changed to the Dollar General Store Bowl?
It's Time NDSU and Bisonation
QUIT DOUBTING!!
Do we REALLY wanna be in a Division with these GARBAGE teams?
(I took out the TOP 10 on Oct 31 poll)
St Francis is getting 28 votes for christs sake... this is a total embarassment to be with these team and GUESS WHAT NDSU IS SUBSIDIZING THEM ALL!! (inflated prices for NDSU at most of them, hell, UNI 50/50 went from $3000 to $6600 this saturday!

$80 million Tulane's Yulman Stadium 30,000 seats.
$125 Million for NDSU's on Campus stadium with 40,000 seats is doable!! this is all we need!
http://www.woodwarddesignbuild.com/p...tball-stadium/
NDSU should do a feasibility study for Mountain West this summer. why not!!
Ill raise the $50,000 for it.
Lets face facts, NDSU needs a spark right now, the Football team is plateauing We cant get any better 5 titles, Semi's in 6th.
Big 10, Big 12 need a 50,000+ stadium ==== not happening
MAC , Sun Belt ==== They Wont take NDSU because of Location & more importantly NDSU would dominate Day 1.
Mountain West is the #1 most Viable option for NDSU to FBS.
Fargodome can stay (for now) 20,000 average would put it #6 in conf
22 more scholarships almost guarantee NDSU stays in top half of the conference
Mountain West Elevates all of our Sports.
Mountain West gets NDSU Big Dance money and College Football Playoff money to offset costs.
New 42,000 NDSU outdoor stadium would be very easy (no home games after November 20)
Mountain West schools are NDSU Institutional Peers.
After listening to this YouTuber I'm an FBS or bust convert.

But if we do lets not wear yellow pants with white jerseys mmkay?
Lets get the FBS bandwagon rolling. No more MVSU games on the schedule.
If you don't think NDSU should be in a bigger league.
Try finding a ticket
ndsualumni.com/ticketexchange it amazing how many people are looking for them.
Going rate is $100/ticket on Craigslist https://fargo.craigslist.org/search/tia?query=ndsu
for Homecoming/UNI & USD they will be going for $150-$200/ticket easily. WOW>

Today's @SJUJohnnies / @TommieAthletics game at Target Field outdrew more than half the Division 1 bowl games held last season.
No! That can't be True...the bowl game is the all honored and covered prize!!! And a game at Target field would be terrible I've heard.

Those Georgia Southern FCS playoff teams that came to the Fargodome would handle this GSU FBS squad.
Serious question, of all the teams that have moved from FCS to FBS in the last 10-15 years how many are actually better now than their FCS years?
Georgia southern won a bowl game with their FCS recruits, think about that
Now look at them and that crappy spread option type offense, and their overweight d line that was sucking air halfway thru the first qtr..
To be fair, GSU has a new coach, no? That could have happened in FCS as well...
Boise State would be out of the time frame he used, i.e. last 10-15 years. The list would be Charlotte, Coastal Carolina, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, FIU, FAU, UMASS, Old Dominion, South Alabama, Texas State, Texas-San Antonio, Troy, and Western Kentucky. Some of these schools were new start-ups and only played in FCS for two years before jumping so it's hard to compare FCS to FBS success.
WKU is probably the bellweather so far, they have done really well after getting off to a slow start. ODU has sold out every game since restarting football and UTSA has been up and down a bit but is undefeated right now and draws well at the Alamodome. Of the recent move ups, App State has won 2 bowl games in a row, GaSo is struggling right now but will be fine. Jury is out on Coastal and Charlotte while FAU and FIU have been a joke. That's my synopsis anyways.
