Re: FBS move fans. Here's a good read
You're right the Big Ten looks at the MAC as teams they can beat. They look at FCS teams as more of a challenge which is why they don't want to play FCS teams anymore ;)

the Gophers hired their head coach from a MAC school...that must mean they show some respect, no?

This whole thread is mostly about opinion.
The only thing I'm absolutely sure of that borders on FACT is that people in favor of moving up to FBS now better have the money ready. The people of North Dakota are not looking for more places to spend money. When it comes to State money, I believe the LAST place it will go is to anything to do with Athletics. There are, literally, Billions of dollars needed for infrastructure out West.
In case you haven't checked lately, the profit projections for farmers in 2014 have a ton of red ink in them. It could be that way for a few years. THat kind of thing has a real tendency to trickle down in this area regardless of how some people think Fargo's economy is buffered. Time will tell.

And the Buckeyes hired their previous head coach from an FCS school....

The argument that the MAC provides more "exposure" is laughable. The B1G and the Big 12 look at MAC programs as a joke. Why would we want to be there?
The MAC may not offer more exposure than the top FCS team for that particular year, but what about when we miss the playoffs entirely? Does a mid level MAC team get more exposure than a mid level MVFC team?

I can't argue with that.
If the product we put on the field is not "FCS Playoff Worthy" then our 19,000 seat facility will be more than adequate and we certainly wouldn't be a middle of the pack MAC team.

This is post #377 on this subject. I've read them all and I still have the same opinion. Low level FBS for football is NOT a move up and there are no playoffs. I like where we are.

I think mid-level MAC teams get more exposure than any MVFC team not named NDSU combined.
The MVFC has a middle of the pack media deal in the FCS. CAA, Big Sky, MEAC, SWAC, Ivy and Patriot all have superior TV deals. Patty V needs to step it up.

Respect for Coach---conference. Those two can be mutually exclusive. FYI.

What are everyone's thoughts on the idea of NDSU moving up to FBS? Also, please explain your stance on UND and NDSU playing football in the future.
