Yeah he did not play well at the end of a game that he really needed to

Not the defense, not the lack of healthy receivers, not on the refs turning a blind eye to PI, yep - all on Wentz.

Reich needs to run the ball there. Clearly Wentz had his head in his ass. Ride your rb.

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
after a terrible pick by Carson, Titans take it down and kick the Game winner in OT
Still hate the NFL Ot rules but they had a chance

Wentz consistently forced passes into double and triple coverage at the end of the game, so yes, even with the mistakes earlier in the game (some made by Wentz too), the team was in a position to win and Wentz made really stupid decisions with the ball. Taylor is wide open and Wentz throws it into triple coverage. Just mind boggling. Wentz has been good this year, but he was terrible in the second half and beyond today.
Wentz doesn’t deserve most of the criticism that he receives, but he does deserve criticism for his play today.

it is not 100% on him, did you watch the game from beginning to end? Stupid Penalties, 2 healthy WR, the D needs to make stops when needed
Carson did not play well, but he again played his ass off and did pretty well with what he had, those pressure shuffle passes though...holy shit he has to quit that crap

Yep. Nobody's off the hook for this one.

The line could have been better and the defense could have been better at times, but the D stepped up at the end. Wentz did not. He did that hero ball stuff. He needs to be better than that. He really killed his team’s chance to win at the end and was more of a detriment than a help at the end. Obviously other people could play better too, but Wentz squandered the chances he was given to win the game. He deserves criticism for that.

2 steps forward. 3 steps back. Did Hero ball return today? Saw a few highlights so I can't really judge

Wentz will be roasted for the pick six, but that was less his fault. The play call was terrible. I think it was slow developing playaction screen from their own 8 yard line. He couldn’t get the ball to his target as the lane was blocked. Then he was wrapped in the endzone, and at that point had to avoid a safety or intentional grounding. This he threw up a duck. The pick six was actually better than a safety at that point though. My issue is several other plays where he forced passes instead of taking what was available. Today was a step back, and I hope he reigns himself in a bit.

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
Wentz deserves a lot of blame for that loss. He still makes some dumb decisions at the worst times. With that said I just don't understand why these coaches get so dang pass happy and go completely away from running the ball. Indy has a good run game and one of the best backs in the league and Reich refused to run the ball in the second half and overtime. 20 rushes and 51 passes? It's mind boggling.

I wouldn't say the pick at the end was as bad as seems. Safety cage if his responsibility reading eyes and gambled. Made a play and won the game. Not a good pass but not half as stupid as the pick 6

What do you guys expect? He's playing games on the sabbath!

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
Listened to the post game show on the way home from the game. During his press conference Reich took responsibility for the horrible play that resulted in the pick 6. He said you should never run a screen like that necked up to your own end zone. He mentioned 2 or 3 others he admitted to poor play calls. One was the third down play (should have run rather than pass) before the failed 4th down in the first half.
Fun game but bummed at the outcome. Went to Vikings game in Cincinnati and they lost in OT on a bad turnover. Same with the Colts today. I'm not going to any more games.

Reich is a class act. He knows how to take the blame off the player which a good coach will do.
Playing QB in the NFL can be a tough gig. Brady had 3 turnovers today!

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
Wentz is an average QB. He and Goff have never lived up to their 1-2 picks in the draft. Well, I guess Wentz did that one year.

That was an awful playcall. 2nd INT was on Carson, missed Taylor wide open in the middle of the field that wouldve got them a 1st down.

I’m sure Carson will beat himself up over it, but he has to stop himself from snowballing and just bounce back.

Considering he doesn’t have an entire fan base attempting to use him as a scapegoat I’m sure he’ll be just fine

Don’t recall who said it here, but Brady Ball is the way to go for Carson going forward. Plenty of heroics to be had that way also, with a lot less pain and downtime.

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
At the half:
Wentz - 15/18, 146 passing. 11 rushing, 2 TD, 0 INT
28-10 Colts

Wentz is on fire tonight…

I was wondering if the fbs vs fcs guys even knew he was playing tonight?
They don't seem to care much for rabbits. Funny how this dysfunctional family works eh

Great minds think alike. 2 posts while I typed!!!
Good old Bisonville

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
Colts scored TDs on all four first half drives, including a surgical 2-minute drill.
Carson 15-18 with 2 TDs. Since it was the Jets, I figured I could risk watching the Colts' last possession - it was glorious.

I don’t waste time on NFL. Unless a Bison is playing.
Carson looking very good tonight. OL giving him enough time to be exemplary. RB playing well also. Nice to see.
Hope they have a second half that is a mirror.

Motions Wentz out and direct snap to RB twice when it's and goal? Questionable play calling.

Agreed. Why do gimmick plays when everything else has been working so well?

Head scratchers.
But the Colts sure didn't waste time getting the back and scoring another TD... no tricky stuff this time - just Carson finding a wide open OL in the end zone for another TD pass.

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
Well, after TDs on 6 or their first 7 possessions, I'm guessing that it's safe to go to bed... Carson should be watching the rest of this one.

Spoke too soon. Indianapolis kept Wentz in and took the defense out.
