If all that hadn't happened we wouldn't have been treated to one of the best all time coaching meltdowns when Monken had to take TWO timeouts for the exact same formation and still failed to stop it.

If you look back at the stats McKinnon did get it done. NDSU used the same defensive plan they used the year before taking the dive and pitch. GSUs QB Jabo Shaw made the right calls but was neither quick to the line or fast enough once he made the line to make any yardage while McKinnon was.

That game was close. GSU made 2 defensive back to back 15 yard penalties and lost a fumble. Thats on GSU and you deserved the win.

You could very well be right. He is bound to make a couple of big plays. In the end, I don't think it will matter.

You guys are 2 times better defensively, and you scheme better and have elite athletes. I would guess Anderson gets half of his total he had against us. If he gets anywhere near a 100 it's in junk time when you guys are up 30+ and Klieman takes his foot off the gas.

He will also have less time to get there because of your long time consuming drives.

You know Stick, Shepherd et. al have been screwing up this dynamic a bit this year it seems. Plenty of three and four play "drives". Too lazy to research it but I would bet our TOP ratio is nearer 50:50 this year than what seems more like 60:40 in years past. It's terrible, just terrible.

NDSU's average TOP this year is 32 minutes on the button. That's the lowest it's been since 2011. Everybody panic!!!

EDIT: I guess 2016 it was 31:51. Resume panicking!!!

Just throwing this out there (sorta thread related)—-still tickets available? I bought 3 this morning and just checked a few minutes ago and could still get as many as I wanted on the sideline? Come on Bison fans buy these flippin tickets!

After an exhausting 30 seconds of research:

2018---32-28
2017---33.43-26.17
2016---31.51-28.09
2015---36.39-23.21

Andersen could run for 150 and 2 TDs and that doesn't mean we don't lose by 21.

This game really boils down to two things:

#1 - We have to get some semblance of a passing game going so NDSU just doesn't load the box all game. Hell NDSU might load the box all game anyway even if we hit a few big passing plays.
#2 - We have to be +2 in turnovers. NDSU doesn't cough the ball up, so this is also likely not going to happen. But after playing the first 7 games without recovering a fumble, MSU has forced 11 in the last 5 games two go with 3 picks.

I don't think our banged up defense can get enough stops without creating turnovers. And the offense can't score enough without a short field.

We get a starter in the secondary back it looks like, our two starting DTs should be healthy after not hardly playing against UIW, so we get some guys back that we didn't have against Incarnate Word. But I just don't think it will be enough. We do go a legit 2 deep along the DL so I'm hoping the boys won't get ground into paste by the 4th quarter.
