Pretty good chance.
I see the P4 wanting to have both their own Basketball and Football playoff systems.
And even if not, now they will be free to directly spend unlimited money on players.
There will be a 2 tier system. Paid/pro and "scholarship"

The P4 are clearly on a track to become a pro style league of between 30-60 teams, with unlimited budgets and spending.
Given some of the P4 are as high as $250m budgets, it may be the floor to really compete is $100m+
Curious why they would have to add schools?

I don't think so. Just like FCS football schools are DI basketball schools so will the new FAS(figured I'd keep the pattern going) schools.

We can never have nice things. Someone has always got to ruin it.

Aresco doesn't make the decisions on who to add, the existing schools do.
Unfortunately, they've decided to stay in their footprint. Aresco was pitching OSU/WSU to the members, and they declined.
If they don't want OSU/WSU, its not happening for us either. Geography matters.
Time to hop on board the MWC train Chapo.

Time to hop on the anything FBS train, but I'm afraid we missed it.

With $100M the expected base budget ante, it's looking more and more like:
- Top 40-60 programs

Been saying this for literally 10 years. Operation “hope Scarlett Johansson asks us to marry her” is never going to happen. Breaking into the next level, even in a bad conference makes us FAR more likely to get into a good conference later, compared to our dream scenario of the super hot girl randomly asking the Reddit nerd to dance even though we’re not even in the fricken gym.
Matt Entz seems to agree with me, so there’s that.
Good conferences are way more likely to take a BAD FBS program to join them than a good FCS program, simply for the optics of not being a JV conference.
