I think the ncaa completely folds and lets the p4 operate independently in football but remain in the ncaa in all other sports. Basketball would be decimated without those 64 programs
Indeed, which is why all of these moves (including NDSU obviously) should be discussed in the context of FB only.
It's a bit like the fox guarding the hen house, the way it is currently being run (by the SEC), but I doubt Emmert loses any sleep over it. Which is funny, since we the mere-mortal masses kind of like how March Madness works and would love to see FB try to emulate this kind of a model.
P5 football is starting to taste a little rancid to me ...

I get what you're saying, but even in the P5 the differences are like that (Texas' budget is more than 3x Washington State's).
UConn and Houston are $80M and $75M respectively. UND and NDSU are 1/3 of that (see Texas/Wassu difference).

All that said, there are a lot of dominos to fall before that conversation comes around.

Dean Bresciani can leave a legacy and have a freakin statue made if he got NDSU into the Mountain West or AAC!

I would agree with that, if he could somehow convince them to elevate NDSU in front of the 20+ other schools these conferences would rather add it would be quite a feat
Re: A new and better FBS thread
Interesting discussion in which NDSU, SDSU and JMU come up frequently

Overall take away - There will likely be massive realignment at the G5 level but only a few FCS schools will be impacted
Re: A new and better FBS thread
Need a new stadium/dome. Not one made of fucking brick this time. I’ve said it many times but the type we need is a fully enclosed stadium like the Mosaic Stadium in Saskatoon. 30k expandable to 38k. Get this indoor practice facility up and start on that. No open air stadiums because it’s not ideal and don’t want to hear otherwise. Needs to happen!!!

Brick is better than the tin shit house up north. Agreed though next larger stadium needs to be enclosed and likely won't be brick.

I disagree with the second sentence, FWIW. That's all that matters at our level - FB prowess. I like our CV
