Yep. Never will be a P5 again. PAC is just gonna be the new MWC...which was just a new WAC

I don’t think so. Hell, look at what conferences looked like a year ago, or 3 years ago! Conference realignment will always be happening. Now, I do agree, like I stated before, that this might be the best opportunity.

They will do everything possible to create that "best of G5" conference, and put themselves at least back on the edge of being considered a power conference. The 4 schools they added are a very big step that direction, and something our MWC friend didn't seem to think would happen (due to exit fees).
Presuming they've got the money to do so, they will pull a couple from AAC next.

Re: A new and better FBS thread
Honestly my biggest fear is that SDSU isn’t interested and/or ready for a move up. Auto relegates us to a football only option at best and probably even that would be too much for MW to stomach.

Long been known that Air Force almost moved (with CSU and Boise) to the AAC years ago. Minus the big 4 (especially CSU) who are leaving, there is no reason for Air Force to stay and both Navy, and Army would love to have them in the AAC. I would not be surprised if the MWC could lose another 2 or 3 additional teams to either the new PAC, or to the AAC with Air Force being one. No, that is not just speculation, I've heard it from West Point alums.

I lost hope after the last one. If this one doesn’t do it I will have come to grips with the fact that our only chance at G5 is Sicatoka’s weenie hut jr Big Sky/MVFC mashup pipe dream.

I have hope. I'm ready to be hurt again.

I really think we have a shot here, provided SDSU get their head out of their ass as we need a travel partner for non-rev.
SDSU has never said they weren't interested in moving. What Sell has said, they would be prepared to move if the right opportunity arose. No way SDSU stays in FCS if they get an invite along with NDSU to leave for the MWC, especially if the Montana schools are involved.

1. Army and navy are football only members
1a. Doubt Air Force goes football only to AAC
1b. How much pull do two bottom dweller football only members have in the AAC?
2. What does Air Force bring the rest of the conference? What makes SE teams want to fly cross country for a mediocre program to be added?
I could be wrong but it always just seemed like people wanting to group them together because it seems to make sense. That’s not how conferences work lol

Honestly, thats what some of those proposed PAC tweets look like. And what the MWC is more likely to evolve to.
MWC will most likely backfill with some "mashup" of Big Sky/MVFC, and I hope we are part of it.
It will likely be the remainder of MWC combining with "best of FCS"

Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk
they already aren't a power4 conference.

Just snuck over to your forum to see what folks are saying. What thread would that be over there? BTW, I've heard Sell's comments and agree. But small time thinking media members like Zimmer have colored my perception. He thinks having Augie in a for a game is a great thing....LOL

Re: A new and better FBS thread
xdsu's and the montana sheep fuckers have to be a pretty attractive quad to a g5 conference that's trying to add legitimacy in terms of competition
unfortunately it's everything else that seems to carry weight

Re: A new and better FBS thread
I've said this before and I'll repeat it now. It sure would be nice at times like this if our administration and coach would have tried to elevate our men's basketball profile.

i agree 10000% but mostly because i'd really like to enjoy watching basketball again.
but at least we have a resume from a decade ago that implies we can do it again.

Agree, that may be one of our downsides if MW is as focused on basketball as our MW friend states. Basketball has been woefully neglected, and that is on ML and co. We really should invest more in that sport. But it seems like a chicken and egg thing with fan support lacking as well.
Still think we’ve got a good shot at this. MW backfilling with Montana/MSU/NDSU/SDSU would be a great move. There’s a chance MW loses one or two more, but right now they just need 4.

When the fuck did we get basketball eh?

Imagine the FCS if the XDSUs and Montanas leave.....I guess there will be parity, so there's that.

Re: A new and better FBS thread
SDSU has a
1) newer football stadium that can be expanded if need be
2) newish indoor practice facility/indoor track
3) brand new wrestling complex
4) totally redone basketball/volleyball arena
5) wrapping up upgrades to the baseball and softball fields
What exactly has NDSU done to make yourselves attractive to an FBS conference? Neither state has enough people to be attractive. The Fargo dome, while you are proud of it and should be, looks like the old arena in Sioux Falls. It is dated and can't be expanded. Your basketball program has needed investment for years. FBS doesn't care how many championships you have won. They want eyeballs to sell advertising and facilities to show that you give a shit and are capable of keeping up with the Jones's. Hopefully SDSU's investment in their facilities including football is enough that a conference will consider allowing NDSU to follow SDSU into the next level.

NDSU is a brand that brings eyeballs and ratings. That's why our games are on the mothership and SDSU plays on the Ocho.

Actually, I’d bet Big Fluffy still kicks their arse in the playoffs. Probably MVFC teams like UNI and YSU as well.
More interesting question is who does MVFC backfill with next? Hope we aren’t around long enough to find out.

That could essentially read like a list of things NDSU has already done and to your last point all things that have zero to do with eyeballs. LOL

This is one of the dumbest posts I've read in years.
Let me destroy your arguments:
1. I live in Sioux Falls; the Fargodome is WAY nicer than the Sioux Falls arena, but does need a facelift.
2. We have a nicer indoor practice facility.
3. We also have a pretty darn new bball facility, and more up to date than Frost until just now. That was a huge investment.
4. We already have excellent bball facility and softball facility. You are the behind school on facilities.....
Nice troll job. You got me.
