Re: GDT: NDSU vs. Western Illinois
I'm never making that trip again. The drive home today was one of the worst I ever had. Granted, I drank too much yesterday so I couldn't get back nearly as far as I wanted. Ended up staying in a roadside motel in Havana, IL. Woo!
That 2 hrs on the shittly little highway is awful, worse with a monster hangover.
Protip: If you're going to drink beer all day, a McGriddle and two Italian beef sandwiches is not enough to eat. Also, those Volsons know how to fucking party!

Plus you dont see a rodeo dude when he get off his ride run over to his competition and mock or do the in your face bullshit and if they do there is no team that can be effected by those actions.
Now we get to a collegiate football player. There ARE rules for acceptable behavior. When one breaks those rules willfully and without regard to the team the team can and will feel the brunt of the rule violation. By violating the rules that player can also be subject to sanction from his team depending on severity.
You cant even call this an apples to oranges comparison because the two scenarios are so far apart.
No my point is my point. You guys don’t get to decide it when you can’t understand the correlation.
Brooks didn’t taunt anyone like some of you want claim. He scored and ran to the direction of where there were Bison fans that apparently included his family (according to a former NDSU athlete who was commenting with Keith Brake on the post game show) and took a bow towards them. Nothing terrible with his actions. Had he done this to WIU’s bench, then yes, he would have been in the wrong.

Did you suffer one too many concussions during your wrestling days?

I don't see anything incoherent with the logic in his post.
I agree with him that taunting is always wrong and should be flagged. Where celebration becomes excessive is a much greyer area. I already pointed out where Butler did almost the same thing as Brooks.

Comparing scoring a touchdown in a college football game to riding a bull at a rodeo.

The problem lies in the "almost".

There is a correlation. Both sports are dangerous but thats it and has nothing to do with the point at hand.

I don't watch rodeo so I have no idea. Seems an odd comparison however.
Brooks probably wasn't trying to taunt the opposing team or fans but his bow being directed so clearly to the sidelines likely drew the flag. Just tell him to keep his celebrating directed to his teammates on the field.

Coach talked to him. If it happens again, it'll be a concern.
Re: GDT: NDSU vs. Western Illinois
Yeah but Butler can bow because his last name is Butler. That's what Butler's do.
