The thing that I find striking is that there is no clamoring among the G5 NOT to be with the P5. Rather, it is just the opposite. Meanwhile, those that have moved up have no regrets and none are interested in moving down. I think this is telling.
But what really turned my view back around was looking at this from the perspective of the rest of FCS. They hate us because we’re the 6th grader who refuses to graduate and just sticks around and dominates on the playground. At some point it becomes obnoxious. You can say "up your game" but realistically NDSU is a man among boys in FCS, with the gap only widening. To continue to do that indefinitely is bad karma, IMO.
You’d need the state to fill the gap of student fees - so some very good PR work is in order - but it is good to hear that the AD is now looking into it. It is time to do so now, or it will be in fairly short order.
Yeah it seems like nobody who has moved up regrets it. Granted, how many would ever admit that they thought the decision was a bad one.

I been harping on this move since 2013 when the MAC was going to invite us but NDSU admin didn't want it. (according to hush hush sources)
