I agree but think the assistant coach salaries are even more important. It was one of Craig Bohls major deals. I doubt we ever lose a head coach over a few hundred grand. We will lose a head coach over millions
An extra 50 grand would be much more impactful to an assistant making 100 grand.
Of course if we ever move up, we would likely get a TV revenue share that can help cover costs
Higher salaries = higher retention. Higher retention = better recruiting and a stronger system. It also attracts more candidates

Still in total agreement.
Re: Welcome back HC Polasek
Tim Polasek future is an interesting thought process. On one hand, he knows that as FCS is contructed, he can win here and have long term stability. Further, it is the program that gave him all 3 of his biggest breaks; initial hiring, then coming back to be offensive coordinator, and then finally bringing him back to be head coach. Further, his wife is from Fargo, so he has very strong ties here. The one other knock is he is still playing with Coach Entz recruits. We still need 2-3 years to see his full imprint on the program which will give major programs pause. Finally, if the reallignment carosel swings a bit again, I'm pretty convinced at this point NDSU will be moved up as it was clear they were super close to a Mountain West invite. Thus, he could end up with a large pay bump and not move. On the other, like other mentioned, if a P4 called, he'd be gone as it is just too much money, and Tim P. could recruit anywhere. Thus, I think it would take a P4 head coaching, or maybe offensive coordinator job to pull him away. I'm guessing we have at least 2 more years of Coach P ahead of us and I'm all for it.

Not trying to nitpick but I believe his wife is from western ND. New England, ND specifically. "The Great Randini" would know for sure.
