Tim was hired by Klieman and by Bohl two times... If you trust those two coaches judgment, Tim seems like a guy worthy of a job offer.

You expected to have a say on if Richman was extended or not ? Really ? And why is Richman unpopular, because of his personality ? His style of play ? It certainly can't be because of his recruiting or his record. He has us playing in the conference championship just about every year. Please explain.

He has been given multiple extensions without an announcement. Only when the Forum did FOIA requests did they find out months after. It’s really weird.
In 10 years he has 0 marquee wins. His record is inflated with 3-4 non-D1 wins each year. Last year we were one game away from going winless in the D1 non-conference.

It's been a 5 year debate now
http://www.bisonville.com/forum/show...nTo-ThE-gRoUnD
I actually think Richman is a decent coach, not sure he can take the program to the "next level" some are seeking.
But really, we'd have to start investing a LOT more resources in basketball if we want a top program thats making noise in the tourney. A splashy coach hire would demand more resources to work with.

Seem to be a lot of people on Bisonville that don't understand that !

Guys, can you please move the basketball talk over to that board?

Bingo, and worked with Kliemen under Bohl the first time. This is about an insider hire as you can have from the outside. If he was good enough for both of the godfathers of our run, especially Klieman at this point, I'm pretty happy with this hire. Doesn't mean it goes well, but he clearly knows how things work around here and what is expected.

As it usually does lol I honestly considered messaging Logan last night on Twitter so she could poke around first and get the story - she deserved it again after the uproar over her breaking the Entz news. Hopefully they haven't iced her out, though I don't believe this was very tightly kept news if I knew about it lol

Me speaking directly to TP: Go get the 5 recruits from MN that are going to Wyo, let's flip this thing in year 1 my guy.

He needs to get something going the other direction or we'll just bleed out.

My kids attend school with one of the Wyoming recruits from MN. I was invited to his signing day party. At this point, I doubt he switches, as the coaches here played for SMSU and don't like SDSU or NDSU so they see Wyoming>NDSU or SDSU. Wyoming was his first and only FBS offer. SDSU did offer him a scholarship but he turned it down. Most around here are scratching their heads going why in the world would you choose Wyoming over SDSU. NDSU did not offer.

Re: Welcome back HC Polasek
I've notice that Wyoming, has an NIL system similar to Arkansas State where the contributions are, I believe, going to be tax deductible in the future. They are applying for non-profit status.

Beat me to it. I think that's going to be a tough sell I wonder how some bigger schools are getting it?

Sorry, who is SMSU?

Re: Welcome back HC Polasek
Rohl needs to be offered a job before he would leave. It’s not like he’s just going to quit. Although Kansas States offensive coordinator job is open and they love poaching from NDSU.

He is a stud at fundraising but he did it to pad his resume. His lack of detail set every team back.
Name 1 sport that is better off than it was 5 years ago.
Some of his mistakes include making the entire west side tailgating reserved. His handling of covid. Marketing failures. Ending fan day. Turning the spring game into a non event. Not playing a role in the Fargodome expansion. I could talk for hours about his failures

Not sure on the quality of the source, so take with grain of salt. Definitely makes sense though.

Fresh quote from Craig Bohl about Polasek and the Bowl Game from UW Athletics:
"Tim will not coach in our bowl game as he will be beginning his new role as head coach at NDSU. We'll handle our offensive plans for the bowl game internally with our current offensive staff."

You could argue football and track with the facilities. Probably basketball. Softball facilities. Wrestling to the Big12. It’s more challenging to name one that’s not in a better place.

That's good we need him to get started immediately!

As Gabe said he's great a fundraising and our facilities have improved but as far as his coaching hires and management theirs really only women's BB and that had no where to go but up. Still not where they need to be either. I sure hope he nailed this coaching hire but time will tell.

Any other answer would have been shocking. We needed him here yesterday.
Hope he's already in Fargo and has been actively planning next steps.
Sounded like there was a team meeting, hopefully he met them today.

Conor Riley is serving as the OC for their bowl game...Coach Klieman essentially said that it was his "interview" to take over that role going forward. If he does, that opens up the O-Line coach spot for them.

Re: Welcome back HC Polasek
My biggest gripe with ML is I feel like he just sits on his ass and attends the events but does nothing to better them. He has done nothing to make the gameday experience better in the dome and therefore we can only fill half the dome. It’s sad to see and it starts with him and to me has nothing to do with the product on the field. May be a great fundraiser but shit at everything else.

Outdoor track maybe
Remove facilities out of the equation and every team is worse off. Basketball? What's Daves signature win? He had zero to do with Big 12 Wrestling inviting us

An AD is not responsible for facilities?

Mrs Larsen, please don't post on Bisonville! ADML has done a great job fundraising but none of our sports are in a better place. He is not and was never the guy who had the vision to get us into FBS.
Quick story...I was a student at NDSU during the transition. The day that the Big Sky turned us down for a conference invite I ran into Gene Taylor at the copy shop in the union. We were both waiting to get something printed so we briefly chatted. His eyes were red and you could tell he'd had a rough day. He just had the look of somebody who'd had their heart broken. I asked him something along the lines of "what now for NDSU" and he responded that he was convinced that NDSU would be a huge success in DI and that it was his job to ensure the big sky regretted their decision. Boy, did he ever. I've never gotten that kind of passion from ADML and have always felt that he wasn't the big vision guy.

And who can forget when Gene Taylor resigned to go to Kansas State, and the emotion-filled press conference. President Bresciani was at his side and Gene pretty much broke down with reddened eyes. Who can blame him for going to K-State but he still was sad to leave. Everything he did was with his heart and soul. We will never, ever get an A.D. like him. M.L. pales in comparison. I will admit Gene was a tough act to follow but that does not mean his successor had to be an abysmal failure.

Don't forget the SHAC was fundraised and planned by GT. ML was AD while it was being built so the credit and unfortunately some of the failures of that project go to GT.
